Win a Trip to London for the Royal Wedding

Hullo there! It’s the Travelocity Roaming Gnome here, and I’ve got to tell you, I’m just chuffed about the impending nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton—or as I like to call them, old Wills and his bird. Won’t they make a splendid couple?

As you can imagine, I was William’s first choice for best man, but I had to turn him down because I didn’t want Harry to be hurt. “Not to worry, old chum,” I said. “I’ll just make sure I’m guest of honor instead. I’ll even wear my very best pointy red hat. Oh wait, I’m always wearing my very best pointy red hat.”

Gnomeversation: Small Talk with a Lake Tahoe Insider

Gnome’s Note: Hello chaps, it’s the Travelocity Roaming Gnome! Even though I have a rather impressive list of travels under my belt, globetrotters like me still fancy a few new travel tidbits now and again. That’s why I’m interviewing Travelocity’s very own destination experts. Meet me here to learn insider tips about smashing places!

Take it from me – and Alaina Henry, one of Travelocity’s ski experts – Lake Tahoe is a simply splendid ski destination! Alaina tells me that the South Shore and North Shore offer visitors fantastically different experiences; she says to go to the south side of the lake for casinos and nightlife and to go to the north side for a more secluded, rustic vibe. Oh, and Lake Tahoe is also known for its amazing photo ops – an important tidbit for those of us who are especially photogenic.

Oh, look; there’s a handsome fellow enjoying one of those magnificent views Alaina speaks of. Wait…is that good looking devil me? I thought it was another chap in a pointy red hat!

Splendid! I believe I just found my December getaway spot. Sharon Griffin, Travelocity’s New Mexico expert, tells me that it’s prime time to visit Santa Fe.

The Roaming Gnome’s Green Tour of Vegas

Howdy there, chaps! I’ve just got back from a splendid trip to Las Vegas where I didn’t so much paint the town red as I painted it green.

Green, you say?

Yes, green! You probably don’t know this—I certainly didn’t, and I usually consider myself rather a smart cookie (and a tasty one too)—but Las Vegas has been taking huge strides towards sustainability lately. There’s so much going on behind the scenes that it boggles the mind! For an in-depth look at all my smashing vacation snaps, you can always have a peek at my album on Facebook, but for now I just wanted to show you a few of my very favorite green initiatives in Vegas.
