Decent hotel near water and ancient quarry

Pros: Cool old place with slightly shabby elegance. Great breakfast and happy hour. The quarry that surrounds the hotel is interesting. Nice pool and lido.
Cons: Very loud air conditioner was annoying. Fortunately the nights were cool and there were no bugs, so we opened the window to sleep comfortably.
Location: Short drive to ancient Greek theater. The hotel's nearby "lido" is nice place to swim in the ocean and just relax by the sea. There is an extra cost.
Staying here was like stepping back in time -- in a good way. The hotel is enveloped in such unusual surroundings of rock and nature. The view from our room was stunning. The air conditioning in the room (though loud) was a welcome relief from the heat and the both the happy hour with drinks and hors d’oeuvres and breakfast services were elegant. We absolutely loved swimming in the ocean at the hotel's nearby Lido. The only drawback here was the front desk staff, who were perfunctory and not nearly as welcoming as hosts we encountered elsewhere.
