"We were all very pleased with our stay."
We, my wife, two sons, daughter-in-law, and two children (4 & 7) were in Savannah for our youngest son's wedding. We stayed at the Oglethorpe Inn & Suites for a total of five nights. The reasonable price for the rooms was an important consideration. Also, it is a smaller motel (maybe 60-75 rooms) which made it easier to keep track of the two grandkids.
The room was conveniently located for travel to the wedding site in the country, downtown for the rehearsal dinner, and to the beach. And it was quiet. Not once did we hear the traffic, the planes overhead, or the grandkids next door to our room. The rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable, and there was a nice sitting/living area.
The continental breakfast was good, not spectacular, but good. milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, waffles, regular and light yogurt, fresh fruit, bread, English muffins, bagels, sausage biscuits, butter and margarine, cold cereal. The staff kept the coffee fresh, and the breakfast bar well supplied. It gave us a good start for the day.
The best feature of the motel is the staff, friendly, courteous, and helpful. We were all pleased with our stay there.
