Two rooms suite was perfect. Cute little beach right down the road and lots of stuff in walking distance. It was what we needed for a family trip.

This is a funky hotel within walking distance of several beaches. The rooms are all different and are tastefully decorated. There is a deck for all to use with a BBQ and view of the ocean. The continental breakfast was pretty good. We have stayed here several times. You will find less expensive hotels that are comparable but I like the funkiness of this place and its location.

Expensive and not as expected

Pros: Staff was pleasant.
Cons: We stayed at 2 other hotels that week with family rooms that were 2 master suites for much less money in Pismo Beach and Pacific Grove.
Location: Small beach close by but not near anything Santa Cruz is known for.
Over priced for accommodations, smokers next door smoking all weekend on their deck. Blinds did not close and were dirty. Bathrooms have no counter space or shelves. Staff was pleasant but the unit was not as depicted on the booking and appeared photoshopped. The finishes were poorly done. We stayed at less expensive hotels with family quarters that were very nice. It is near the beach, but the beach close by is small and very crowded. I was very disappointed at this price point with a 3 star rating, I have no clue who would have given this hotel 3 stars. Continental breakfast we bagels.

Thank you for staying at Ocean Echo Inn and Beach Cottages. We are sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. Our location is great for anyone who wants to explore the many beaches and some of most famous surfing spots in the Santa Cruz area. We are right on popular body-boarding Sunny Cove and close to "The Hook" and Pleasure Point. There are also several good restaurants which are easily accessible by foot. We are about two miles from the Boardwalk; so, our location provides a quieter atmosphere which most of our guests prefer. Our prices are comparable to similar properties in the Santa Cruz area. Our family units actually have full kitchens which most suites do not. We are happy to address any problems while guests are on property because it is our goal for all of our guests to enjoy their stay. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas of the property; so, please let us know if someone is smoking in your space. Please ask for assistance if necessary; we would have been happy to show you how to use the blinds. It gets pretty sandy here at the beach; so, we are dusting all the time. We made sure to clean the blinds again. Thanks for letting us know. Most guests find our breakfast adequate to get the day started. It is a simple continental breakfast: bagels, cream cheese, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, orange juice, and hot chocolate with banana bread on the weekends. Our pictures accurately depict the units very well, and we would never Photoshop a room picture to misrepresent the accommodations being provided. Perhaps you looked at pictures for one cottage and booked another by mistake. Thank you for your feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve our guests' experiences.
