"Would Return in a Heartbeat"
We loved this hotel!! The location was awesome and walking the neighborhood was so pleasant. The decor, comfort of bed, bathroom, balcony, etc., were all phenomenal! We did a roadtrip from San Fracisco to La Jolla, staying at 8 diffrent hotels...this was by-far our favorite!! I am not too fond of paying $45 to park but I still think the hotel was worth it if you are getting a good night's price.

"Unique boutique"
Diva was a cool hotel that is old but revamped.  My friend and I stayed 5 nights over the Labor Day weekend and found it to be excellent.  Every staff person we saw, passed in the hall, or spoke to was friendly, courteous and helpful.  The location is perfect...steps away from union square shopping, dining and clubbing, two blocks from the Powell Station metro/Bart train/cable car lines, two blocks away from the trolleybus line, and always felt safe with lots of people nearby.  We chose a room on the backside of he hotel so it would be less noisy.  It was still a bit noisy on the third floor, but that's typical in a busy city area.  The room was retro chic: lots of silver, purple and greys.  We paid a tiny bit extra for the exec king room (an extra 100 sq. feet) and were really glad for it.  The king bed was comfortable and plenty spacious  for two of us to share without feeling cramped or weird.  The shades were unique and blocked out the light well for sleeping in.  The shower was really great; lots of hot water, perfect pressure so you weren't annoyed trying to rinse the conditioner out of your hair, and no stray squirts of water out of he side of the shower head.  The shower and toilet are separate from the vanity area, which is always a plus when you share a room.  The sink was very deep, so no water splattering all over the vanity.  Individual makeup remover wipes were stocked daily, as were the individual coffee servings for the coffee maker. A small fridge allowed us to go buy water, sodas, and fancy coffee creamer for the room(so I saved money by not hitting the Starbucks off the lobby every day).   There is also a fancy Mexican restaurant off the lobby that had excellent food, but was a little cramped. Robes and freshly packaged slippers were a really nice touch.  I didnt have to worry about getting my white socks dirty as is the usual case even in 4 star hotels.  And I didn't have to go barefoot to avoid it.   My only recommendation for improvement would be some hooks in the bathroom to hang the robe on while you shower and to hang up any clothes you don't want to toss on the floor or set on the toilet.

"Decent place, good location."
The Triton is a quirky boutique hotel just at the Chinatown gate and an easy stroll to Union Square. The lobby is artsy with a fireplace, several seating areas, a large screen TV, and interesting view of foot traffic heading in and out of Chinatown. It boasts a complimentary wine happy hour which was a welcome bonus, though I don't think unique for hotels around here. The staff was courteous and helpful. The rooms (at least mine) was small, and I believe that every room has a different decor. Mine had a kitschy bed and wallpaper that was (I think) a Kerouac novel. There was a small bathroom with a shower and a mini bar. I had stayed at the Triton years ago and didn't hesitate to return rather than pay the outrageous price required at my conference hotel a few blocks away. The walk was not onerous and there are many excellent eateries in the area. Complimentary coffee in the morning was a plus. Internet was free if you signed up for the loyalty program. It wasn't all that quiet being at the edge of Chinatown but hey, it's San Francisco.

"Truly a Gem!"
I loved this hotel! The location is awesome near bubbly Union Square. But unlike most hotels in busy areas, this was like a private, quiet retreat. The room was similar to exceptional European inns I have stayed in--Lovely design, intimate experience with amazing personalized service. Complimentary breakfast and evening wine and cheese were a definite plus. All personnel from front desk to housekeeping were highly professional, attentive and friendly. The room was very clean, pleasant and comfortable. I highly recommend the Inn at Union Square and definitely will plan to stay there again on any future trips to San Francisco.

"Great location"
When checking in, and to my surprise, I got upgraded to a suite on the 12th floor. Huge room, with views over the city. Room service every morning was prompt-when I made my order within 10 mins. my morning coffee arrived. The hotel staff were very friendly and willing to help. The restaurant and bar was inviting, good menu and entertainment. The rooms were very clean and the beds extremely comfortable. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would stay here again.

"Very unique"
I was trying to save money by staying at this hotel, and I was not disappointed.  Sure, it's older, but it had updates where I wanted them, like the bathroom.  The bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean and quiet!  What more can I ask for?  Also, the staff went out of their way for a very small request, which I appreciated.

"Loved the place!"
My husband and I were celebrating our first anniversary and decided to do that in California. We chose the Argonaut, solely on reviews. We were not disappointed! Brooke, at the concierge's desk, was so helpful! She made reservations for us for our anniversary dinner and the food was excellent. She also helped with lunch reservations and we thoroughly enjoyed that as well. The location of the hotel could not be better--so conveniebnt to everything.
