"Awesome!"
The only gripe I had was the price of parking but we were able to find parking on the street as long as a baseball game wasn't going on. The rooftop bar is the best! U can watch the baseball game from it!! Rooms are great and affordable.

"Not bad for the money"
Hotel was good for the money. The walls are thin though, and the rooms are small. You can hear everything from surrounding rooms, but again for the money, not bad.

"Great get away"
My experience at the hotel could have been better. Upon checking in, the hotel was not able to find my reservation. Luckily I had all my invoices that I had printed out. After everything was figured out by the staff the only room available was on the same floor were the pool and the night club was located, luckily we were able to still sleep comfortably with out the noise coming threw the walls. The first night we parked valet (we were too tired to try to look for cheaper parking) but the hotel was trying to charge me for two nights. After showing my invoices from another over night parking that we had used, the hotel credited my card. I did enjoy that the hotel was about two blocks walking distance from all the excitement from the local bars and night clubs.

"Modern spin"
My gf and I were in Town for a wedding and this place was affordable, located nicely downtown and across the westfield mall as well as a lot of locales we wanted to go to.  The room was standard, with vibrant colors (the checked sheets got to my gf though, but we just removed those).  The TV was a solid LCD with HDMI in so i was able to use the google chromecast.  Internet was provided and solid.  We loved the '1/2 or full' flush mode on the toilet, a very green choice!   Everyone was polite and helpful.  The valet service, while pricey, was a nice feature.  Those guys work so hard.   All and all, for 2 nights, this was a great quiet hotel.  Highly recommend.

"A coastal retreat"
The Lodge at Torrey Pines is a fine hotel that pays attention to the details. The staff at the front desk was very helpful. The staff at The Grill was very attentive and despite the number of guests they seemed to remember you the moment you entered the restaurant. My only regret was that we were unable to dine there before we left for our flight. The turn down service left small gifts that I found very useful including chocolate and a jet lag therapy kit. After flying cross country to get there the hospitality was very much appreciated.

"AMAZING"
The staff could not have been more warm and welcoming.  It is a wonderful gem right in the heart of La Jolla.  Suites are roomy and comfortable with all the latest amenities. Continental breakfast in the courtyard every morning.  It was a wonderful place.  Highly recommend it.

"good value, but tragically hip"
In it's desperate attempt to be hip, The Pearl forgets some of the standard sophistication generally seen in hotels of all quality today. My first biggest disappointment was the lack of soap in the room for my full 5-day stay. Soap is an amenity that even the scummiest of places provide, but here the staff suggested I go buy my own since they were out. Secondly, the restaurant staff at the hotel were clueless and clearly untrained in how to seat people. I was told I could not be sat at a two-top being just a single, which is unheard of; then the hostess told me to stand at the host station and wait for a bar stool while other customers swooped into empty stools directly at the bar. I ended up leaving. Finally, the rooms are nice, but there are some things that have not been updated since the mid-century, such as the shower, plumbing system as a whole, and the a/c (whose loudness is great for drowning out the annoying event noise- movie night is a great idea, but they clearly are not equipped to host so many people and allow people to sit directly against guest room walls, another tribute to the flaky staff).

"Perfect pad for partying"
I wanted a stylish spot in Gaslamp for me (and friends if need be) to crash at for my 30th birthday. I took a gamble in reserving this hotel as I did not know which one I was getting. All I knew ahead of time was that it was in dowtown and 4 stars. When I found out the location of the hotel, my jaw dropped. Right in the middle of all of downtown San Diego's best bars and restaurants. The lobby wasn't much of a lobby, quite small but all the staff for check in were prompt and friendly. Room was clean, well kept, and hip urban modern decor. It was also stuffed with lots of goodies too, just don't eat everything! The shower was out in the open, be aware if you have privacy issues. But this hotel was all that I had hoped for. The biggest con for me was parking, at $35 a nite it is not cheap so factor that in your bill. Also, if you are sensitive to noise, be aware that you will here all the commotion from the streets below. Best for younger singles and couples, not recommended for kids and families.
