Went to visit SMU with my son. Very convenient to campus. Down
the street from shops and restaurants. The hotel does not have
complimentary breakfast but there is a Starbucks on the main floor.
You can also go to the Corner Cafe for a heartier breakfast.
We ate dinner at one of the area restaurants. The hotel is about 5
minutes away from Dallas Love Field. Plan to stay there on all my
visits since my son has decided to go to SMU.

The Kimpton hotel is a top name in boutique hotels, and Palomar in Dallas is no exception. The price is reasonable and the design is decidedly hip. I was a little worried because pets are allowed and I don't travel with mine. My concern was that there would be unwelcome evidence of dogs in the lobby elsewhere. This was not the case. The place was clean and classy. My only negative observations were: (1) a few nicks in the furniture in my room, and (2) the wall in the shower was an old, forgettable tile rather than a snazzy marble that I've come to expect in the Kimpton product. But for the price, this place gets 5 stars.
