Loved that the hotel is quiet. The only thing to note is that there is no air conditioning until it is hot by Rome standards. We came from snow country and would have preferred to have air conditioning, but only heat was available because rovtjemnitvwas still cold. Hotel listing did not specify this but said hotel has both heat and air conditioning (just not at the same time)

Excellent choice

Pros: Good value and walking distance from Termini
Cons: Maybe get rid of the mildew on the walls and put some insulation in to dampen the sound
Location: It's within easy walking distance of Termini.
Nice hotel close to the Termini train station. I read some reviews that the beds were hard (they are but I didn't have any problems sleeping) and the walls were thin (they are thin enough that you can hear the TV or people talking in adjacent rooms). I also noticed some mold on the walls. Maybe that's why it's affordable. I didn't mind all that much. I just needed a place to sleep. There was an Italian soldier (or two) down the street the entire time I was there and they had roving patrols. I was told it was not the best area but during the daylight it was just fine. I stayed at another hotel before this and it had a shared bathroom and shower and wanted my own bathroom. Had I known about this hotel I would have stayed here instead.

Nice hotel about 4 blocks from Termini Train Stati

Very nice hotel. It was clean, quiet and conveniently located close to Termini train station, metro, bus connection's. My room was very nice. I paid a little extra for a larger room/ bed but I felt it was worth it. Breakfast buffet is available for 3 euros. Nice selection of breakfast food items. Street names are in stone embedded above first floor of building. No street signs sticking out of poles like in US. Also, know the street address. Names and addresses are flat on buildings. You won't necessarily be able to look down a street and pick out a business. Wi-fi was intermittent. Best on 1st floor and lobby. City tax is added on at check out. Desk clerk is supposed to inform you at check in. Best to have paper map of area until you get your bearings. I relied too heavily on my phone. No internet. Locals didn't speak much English and didn't know where hotel was. (No fault there. It was my job to be prepared, not theirs) Overall, my experience was very good. The hotel was neat and clean. The staff was efficient and attentive. To have the best experience you should do a little homework and be prepared.

A Bargain in Roma

The area south of Termini Station in Roma is where I typically search for good cheap hotels. But I don't expect them to be NICE, as well as cheap. This one is both. I understand that Best Western has made a habit of acquiring good little pocket hotels in European cities. I stayed in one in Paris, and it was also cheap and nice.
