The front desk staff was sincerely the friendliest hotel staff I have ever talked to. She was extremely helpful and nice. The hotel was in a very quiet area so I felt safer than if it was located in a busy city area. With that said, there is nothing near by.

Value-priced

Good place to stay for the money. Staff was friendly. Room was a little iffy: tabletop sticky, carpet dirty, could not get the tv to come on. But, to be so close to work destination, this was worth it.

Not what I expected

On a positive note, the room and bed we're very clean and comfortable. When I was deadbolted in my room, I felt safe. However, the rest of the accommodations were significantly below par. There was very limited staff seeming to run the place...only one young adult (maybe 18-22 yrs?) ever at the desk & they couldn't provide me directions to the hotel when I was lost. One morning, the guy at the desk appeared to be high with very red eyes, slow speech and slow movement. The breakfast in the morning each day was 2 packaged 2 muffins in a bin to choose from, granola bars & packs of oatmeal/grits, with luke warm coffee & water. The advertising signs in the elevator had been removed and people had carved into the empty white boards the "F" word several times and references to "Bloods." I couldn't understand why they wouldn't just remove the boards because it was an unsavory reflection on their establishment & made me feel unsafe by myself until I could hurry to my room & lock the door. There always seemed to be chunks of dirt on the carpet in the hallways from the construction worker's boots that were seen coming and going. The place has potential but needs some revamping, cleaning and professionalism.

Worst hotel stay ever!!!

This was by far the worst hotel me and my family have ever stayed in. The entire hotel smelled like weed from people across the hall and down the hall smoking and getting high. We told the hotel staff and they just said they were sorry but couldn't do anything! ( so much for smoke free rooms) We got a studio room that was supposed to come with a fully equipped kitchen, when we checked into the room there were no dishes, or cookware available at all. When we asked the Front desk they said I'm sorry I don't know where they are. All in all we spent the weekend buying air freshener and staying out of the room as much as possible because we could not handle the marijuana smell, not to mention the trash that was left in the trashcan upon checking into our room. Absolutely un-acceptable and by far the biggest waste of money on a hotel I have ever spent!!!

OK But

room was fine. and quiet. However, there is nothing within walking distance of this hotel for eating, shopping, etc. close to RDU airport is main reason to stay if you have early morning flight. that was my case and I asked for a 5 am wake up call. Did I get one? No

Nice enjoyable stay at Extended Stay Durham

Pros: It got the job done. I was well rested each day.
Location: Definitely go bar hopping in the nearby cities. There are so many different places with local beers
It was a nice simple hotel that was not too much nor was it too little. The room was clean and good for two adventurers. We were happily greeted at arrival by two cheerful people at the front desk, which continued anytime they saw us. The location was perfectly between Durham and Raleigh. I would definitely stay again.

It was the best place I ever stayed rooms were great

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: Poor breakfast
I could not believe it for the price on the secret room, everything was great full kitchen, flat screen tv, love chair and recliner, it was great never got that for the price before, Thanks.
