Perfecto!

Right in the heart of the old historic district this quaint but totally charming hotels sits. The staff was eager and accommodating even before I arrived. They continued their outstanding service my entire stay. It’s a small place with one of the best views of the city. I travel a lot and totally recommend this place!! Especially noted was the fact that I know NO Spanish, yet the staff got me all over the city/local area to enjoy the best dining, best excursions and with nothing but the utmost professionalism and friendliness! I can’t thank them enough for an amazing adventure in this most amazing country.

Modern but Rustic Bed & Breakfast in Quito

Pros: I loved everything about the hotel! The cheese was so great that the owner of the hotel gave us one as a gift to take home!
Cons: Nothing!
Location: The hotel is located in a great spot in the center of Quito near all the historical sites, churches, museums, good restaurants, plazas, great views!
This hotel was wonderful! The staff are super nice and helpful and go out of their way to make your stay in Quito enjoyable. Most rooms are tiny but comfortable with T.V. good water pressure in sink and shower. Sound proof windows which really helps if you get a room with a balcony so you can have a view of the street outside. Their is a rooftop terrace with amazing views of Quito and a lounge type area with a couch also with great views of the city. The only problem is that we were only in Quito for two nights and would have loved to have stayed longer, especially at the hotel. They have 24 hour coffee and tea available. The breakfast is included and it's from 7:30-11AM daily and it includes: wonderful coffee from Quito, fresh tropical fruit, fresh natural juice, freshly made local yogurt and an amazing cheese also from the same person who makes the yogurt, fresh bread from the bakery, butter, jam, ham and turkey deli meats, eggs made to order, cereal, granola, milk, some type of sweet banana bread -was FANTASTIC!

A Fabulous Vacation Starts with the Hotel

Pros: View, staff, location, breakfasts and personal attention!
Cons: WIFI was slow at times
Location: Anniversay dinner at the Bueno Vista was terrific. Basilica, and easy access to Old Town made this vacation so much fun. Above close or cheap cab.
A fabulous vacation starts with the hotel. Hotel Gardenia was our springboard. The hotel and room were modern and Owner operator personally cared for his guests. Staying for 10 nights, we came to know the staff by name, used their recommendations for individual drivers for tours (including Alexis from the hotel), calls for cabs (including trips with our invaluable taxi driver Carlos). The morning breakfast included eggs which were freshly prepared, bread, yummie cheeses and a passion fruit juice my wife adored. Each morning and evening we enjoyed the south-easterly view and always available tea. The hotel is near the Basilica which is balanced between Old Town and New Town. We would walk to and from Old town and take a cab to New town but walk home (No dicier than NYC). During our stay we heard less than appreciative things about Quito's art scene but between Guayasamin's home and chapel, Centro de Arte Contemporaneo and other sites our need for art was more than sated. One of our most memorable moments was eating Guinea pig (cuy) and fish at the Marcado Central. So many other things to list, we had a fabulous time.

Good location in historc center

Pros: Cleanliness and location.
Cons: Some form of accommodation for garments and the attitude of the night receptionist.
Location: The hotel is within reasonable walking distance of all of the historic center.
The hotel is located conveniently in the historic center. The room was quite clean. Be aware that the accommodation is very spartan and minimal, for example there was no dresser or closet of any kind and absolutely no place to put or hang any garments except in your suitcases or on the bed. The included breakfast was very good. The staff were all professional and helpful with the exception of the night receptionist Federico who had a terrible attitude and seemed frustrated with even the smallest request or question.
