Absolutely stunning, lush grounds. You feel far from the rest of the world, yet are proximal to some nearby stores, restaurants, etc (not that you have to leave the property, as there are multiple restaurants with flavors from various global regions...nor do you ever really want to leave your villa!) Not a single detail is missed within the villas, from the lighting to the beautiful wooden built-ins to the private pool. It is truly exquisite. The team is on top of everything: the front desk with checking in, the concierge for booking excursions, the breakfast staff assuring your mimosa flutes are full and you feel at right home. Speaking of breakfast, it was THE absolute best we’ve had at any hotel/resort stay. Totally over the top in terms of selection, yet utterly laid back in terms of your ability to lounge there for a lovely brunch hour (or two!) The staff are among the warmest of all of the Anantara Mai Khao team, and always make sure to chat and teach you local lingo. The main hotel pool is very beautiful, and although we came during high season, the layout allows for privacy and space. The poolside Infinity Bar keeps the spirits flowing, and provided some of our favorite meals of the trip (Short rib burger and Caesar salad - sounds basic but it’s super yummy!) My only qualm about this property is the sea on which it sits. I wondered prior to coming why no one was ever on the beach in the hotel photos. Upon arrival, we found that the sea water has a rather foul smell.

Service was excellent. Our butler helped us find activities and made reservations for us at a nearby spa. We were there during monsoon season, but despite the forecast, it only rained on one of four days. This resort has multiple nice pools and beach access. Some amenities were overpriced, but as a whole the trip was well worth the money. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation.

Super hotel, great staff, friendly and fantastic room

The room had a private large pool, outdoor bed and bar, beautiful room and complex. The morning breakfast was to die for, espresso maker in the room and the most fabulous staff. Would go back in a minute, get for a getaway. Secluded location for a getaway, about 40 minutes north of the airport and about one hour from Phukett.

Conte Nest Top 100 Hot Hotels for 2009

What a wonderful experience, if you are looking for a hotel to get away with that special person, or to get away by yourself this will be the best villa experience you have every had. Great Villas, your villa opens with pocket doors to the edge of your private pool. The pools are beautiful blue tiled pools with a turtle fountain and an outside tub inside the pool. Each villa has a large king size bed with lighted golden hedboard, misquito nets( not needed for misquito's but very romantic) in room expresso coffee maker, fresh fruit everyday, walk-in closet and dressing room along with a beatiful bathroom and dressing area that makes a corner aroung the pool that also opens to the pool( with the bedroom and bathroom it makes a l shape opening to the private pool. Outsdie by the pool are pool chairs, pool umbrella and chairs, table for diining and having a cup of coffee or a botle of wine out of an well stocked wine bar and covered lounging are with a ceiling fan. Can be a sexy place to locate after a skinny dipping in the pool. The salsa villas come with an gazebo leading from steps outside fenced walls of the villa down to an area over the lilly pads and beautiful waater gardens. These salas also have a ceiling fan and curtains to have a romantic encounter over the water garedns with water liilies, flowers and singing frogs most within 200 yards of the ocean. This is a seclude hotel 20 minutes north of the airport and one hour away from the popular beach are Pa Tong Beach. Make sure this is the kind of romantic/ secluded get away your looking for and this is the place. Best rooms I have ever encountered.

Wow!!! Greatest Villa

If you want to get away this is the place. I have traveled extenseively and this is be the nicest room on the planet. The salsa villas ( I think there are twelve) have a private pool (very private with a wall around), large king bedwith a high net around ( very sexy), in room expresso coffee machine, huge bathroom, outside bed area and outside pool, tub and shower and then an additional gazabeo in a water garden over-looking lilly pads. All are nice, best request near the beach. By the way, do not miss the breakfast and the staff is wonderful. Reserve the hotel Mercedes to pick you up at the airport! The hotel is about 20 minutes north of the airport, if you want the Pa Tong Beach experience, it is about 1 hour away. The hotel is very secluded, if you want the hotel close to everything with many things to do, this is NOT it.
