Great comfortable, colorful hotel, really enjoyed the pool and atmosphere, staff was very helpful and friendly, a little pricey (not on some standards) on food and drinks but very unique and tasty.  It was a place I will tell friends about and would stay again.

"Nice Hotel"
This resort was of good quality. The rooms were pretty average rooms, nothing to rant and rave over. What made it a nice place was the service was great but the scenery is what gives it a nice ambiance. The hotel landscaping was done beautifully and the mountain views were gorgeous. I would recommend this as a nice place to stay.

"Really nice place"
The Hampton Inn was a wonderful spur of the moment decision. It is centrally located, right next to Macaroni Grill and across the street from California Pizza Kitchen. It is a short drive to many of the shopping areas. There is a fridge in the room and continental breakfast and snacks at night. Would I stay here again? Absolutely.

"Nice property, nice room. Disorganized staff."
The good- Property was nice. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The bad- Checked in at 4:30 pm. Check in time is 4:00. Our King room was not ready. The front desk attendant had to put us in a double queen room instead unless we wanted to wait. Not a huge deal but still slightly annoying. After being our room for 15 minutes we were on the balcony enjoying the view when we thought we heard a knock. We weren't sure if it was our door or one of the nearby rooms. Then someone tried to open our door. We had the security latch engaged to it wouldn't open all the way. When I went to investigate I found a housekeeping staffer standing at the door. She asked if she could check the mini bar. We had been in the room for 15 minutes. Why does she need to check the mini bar? I tried to explain this to her but she said they needed to determine whether the previous guests had used anything. Doesn't that normally happen before the next guests check in? Good thing we had the security latch engaged.

FireSky Resort & Spa, a Kimpton Hotel - Scottsdale Hotels

FireSky Resort & Spa, a Kimpton Hotel

4925 N Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale - Map

I had mixed reactions about FireSky. The grounds of the hotel are quite nice, especially for being in the middle of a city area. The little sitting nooks were quite charming, and the lobby of the hotel was stunning. The spa had nice rooms but it wasn't your typical spa with a waiting area where you can relax prior to your treatment -- you wait in the "store" part of the spa for your appointment. The most disappointing part was the rooms - not that they were bad, but they were just "ok". After seeing the lobby & entrance of the hotel, I expected the rooms to be equally as elegant, but they felt like just a regular hotel room. Service by the pool was hard to come by on a busy Saturday afternoon, but the pools themselves were nice -- my child really enjoyed the beach part and that was a big draw for us to this hotel in the first place. All in all, I would recommend it because I think others would enjoy the hotel for the price, but if you are looking for an upscale experience, there are other locations in Scottsdale that would be better.
