This has to be the worst hotel we have ever tried to stay at. Staff was unhelpful rooms were nasty. We did not stay here and trying to get our money back.

This was my 5th stay at Monumental Movieland Hotel. One really cannot get a better bargain than this hotel, the price is fantastic. It is conveniently located on International Drive; the I-ride trolley stops right in front of the hotel; the hotel is walking distance to Universal; there is plenty of parking. The WiFi is high speed. The halls are spotless clean and so are the rooms. If you have a complaint, it is handled quickly. The RFID key card to the room worked for my entire stay (which is often a problem at other hotels). There are plenty of snack machines in the halls that are reasonably priced. Yes, the furniture is dated, but it is acceptable for a pleasant stay. Depending on your room, there are nice views from your window. There could be improvement in the laundry room, but it is adequate. Very pleasant and safe hotel.

I’m having a terrible time with my reservation. I paid to ensure I had hassle free cancellation. Originally, I wanted to extend my stay. I called Travelocity and they told me the hotel was all booked. I was on the hotel website and stated that I was looking at multiple rooms available for the night I needed. Travelocity told me to contact the hotel directly. I call the hotel directly, and they told me to call Travelocity. Why does no one want to take more money? When neither party could help, the agent at the hotel desk told me to let them know when I show up for check in that I’d like to extend. As I was visiting from out of town for a wedding in the middle of spring break, I did not want to risk not being accommodated upon arrival. On Friday, I began reaching out to Travelocity and the hotel directly to cancel my Saturday reservation. I already found another hotel that guaranteed my stay and did not make me speak to a third party. Travelocity agent told me request was accepted and waiting to hear back from hotel manager. I completely understand paying for Thursday and Friday (even though I did not stay there Friday, my request came after check out time). My request to cancel the Saturday reservation was far in advance. I just received a note back today (6 days later) that the hotel is claiming I stayed there all 3 days. Who will listen and accommodate the cancellation of the 3rd day?
