This was our second time staying here. Now that they have renovated the rooms, it just keeps on getting better. My god, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud and YET it wasn't overly soft--just the right amount of firmness! Very clean, quiet and comfortable--slept like a baby! The young man who checked us in was quite pleasant and delightful. It was only one night this time but it was a very satisfying experience. Whenever we're back in this area, we'll be staying here again. Thank you, Travelodge by Wyndham Berkeley. :)

I arrived in the late afternoon in January and discovered that the heater in my room was broken. I immediately pointed it out at the reception and I was given excuses and false promises about it getting repaired later on. Forty minutes later nothing happened. I was not going to freeze all night. I found another hotel nearby and I told them that I was moving out and told them not to dare to bill me. They did bill me, an now I'm fighting with Amex for a reimbursement. Had the receptionist told me honestly that it was broken and could not be repaired until the following day, had he proposed for some discount, I would have accepted the offer of a space heater, which he made well into the conversation.

Would definitely stay here again! We arrived in Berkeley earlier than anticipated just before noon, so we thought we'd stop by the hotel to see if we could at least drop off our luggage. It was just after 12 pm when we made our luggage drop-off inquiry in the hotel front office. The desk attendant told us that if we didn't mind taking an upstairs room we could check-in right then--and so we did! The room was pleasant, VERY clean with no strange or stale odors. Bed was extremely comfortable with snow-white, crisp, fresh linens. Microwave and mini-fridge in the room. Shower was ultra clean, modern and spacious with decent water pressure and good lighting. Considering the University Ave. location was very quiet at night. Trader Joe's at the end of the block and many good eateries along the avenue. Thank you, Berkeley Travelodge for a most excellent accommodation!

Hotel staff was always very friendly, prompt and efficient. Close to BART station and lots of restaurants and shops. Property recently remodeled and very clean.
