"Excellent for a Long Term Stay!"
My month long stay at this particular Extended Stay America was much better than I could have imagined. This was the first time I had stayed in a "hotel" for an extended period of time. After settling in (unpacking and stocking my fridge and cupboards) I felt right at home.
The kitchen with full-size fridge, microwave, electric cook-top, toaster, coffee maker, pots-n-pans, utensils and plates was what really made me comfortable... I was able to prepare my usual meals just like at home. And there was no need to do any late-night driving around looking for a 24hr restaurant or gas station for snacks or a cold soda since I had everything I needed in my "studio-apartment".
The grab-n-go breakfast was very convenient... hot tea and coffee, hot chocolate, packets of oatmeal, chewy granola bars, prepackaged muffins, apples and oranges were more than adequate. The offerings were actually much tastier and fresher than any other 2-star hotel that I had stayed at. If I wanted a "hot" breakfast I could cook it in my room or go to the Big Boy restaurant down the street.
The room had plenty of space for my belongings -- using the dresser drawers, and closet area helped me keep organized and tidy. The table/desk counter top adjacent to the kitchen worked out o.k. However, I would've preferred a separate desk area for my laptop and work related stuff. Moving all my paperwork and laptop out of the way for meals was a slight inconvenience. The other Extended Stay America's that I'd stayed at had separate eating and work areas. My room at this hotel had an open and bare looking area along one of the walls that could have accommodated a work desk or small dining table.
My Queen size bed with four pillows (2 feather and 2 poly filled) was more comfortable than I had expected. I believe it was a relatively new Serta Perfect which felt like a cushioned firm. The soft but thin blanket and bedspread was adequate for keeping warm. I usually remove the bedspread when staying at hotels but this one was clean and smelled fresh. I had considered picking up a light weight comforter but never got around to it. For my next extended stay trip I will definitely pick one up or bring one with me (pack it in a space bag).
The front desk staff was always very helpful and always pleasant. When requesting additional soap, towels, tissue, etc... they were quick and eager to get me what I needed. I never got the impression that I was being pesky or an interruption to more important tasks. Housekeeping staff was also very helpful and accommodating to my schedule.
Overall... I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. If need be, I'd have no problem "living" here for a long-term stay of 3-6 months. I'd actually prefer it to a short-term apartment rental. Here, everything is included - housekeeping once a week, clean towels whenever I want them, flat screen TV, quick breakfast with hot coffee, and no worries about dealing with utility hook-ups and bills. Internet Wi-Fi is rather slow for downloading and/or streaming video but an upgrade is available for a nominal price.
For short-term stays, one or two weeks, I think this Extended Stay America is much nicer looking, cleaner, and more comfortable than other traditional 2-2.5* hotels that I've stayed at in this area.
If you need daily room service and evening turn-down service with candy on your pillow, this hotel is obviously not a place that you would choose.
