This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. I stayed here last May and loved it so much I returned last week. The old town of Edinburgh is a short walk away, while the hotel, itself, is on the edge of the new town with many great shops, pubs and restaurants from which to choose. The staff is very friendly and management truly aims to please. You won't be disappointed with this choice and personally, I am already looking forward to my return!

Great location and friendly staff. Shame the room was cold for 3hrs on arrival due to the heating not working but eventually this was rectified after asking twice.

This is not really five stars, or not by American standards. There are flights of stairs within floors, so hard for people with mobility issues. Heat didn’t work in our room, a computer problem in the end, but took a long time to sort out. Clothes hangers were broken and not checked. Room staff speak no English. TV has no premium channels, like Sky Sports, so good luck if snooker is not your fave. Staff were kind a tried, but this is not a five star experience, compared with eg Balmoral, and we paid close to $1000 per night.
