"Good for am snorkeling, no night life."
Sister resort to LEGENDS... Samsara is better choice. Has more privacy, cleaner, more cordial/pleasant staff. Food is SUB-PAR! All inclusive drinks, not so great. Positive is no higglers trying to rip you off constantly for "whatever"... Better to stay at Samsara and voyage over to Legends if you wanna see what seven mile beach is like. (One day is enough). Across the street to Times Sq Mall: typical tourist trap. Locals big hassle too. AVOID the Sat Nite Reggae "concert" next door. Scary, ripoff, almost bullied. Dont go there. Do go to "three-dives" restaurant ab 1/2 mile from Samsara. You can walk to it. GREAT local food...SAFE. Reasonable priced...memorable. The Italian Rest acrx fr Samsara is good for pizza too. Be forewarned, when Samsara staff goes home for the night, they shut off most of the lights and ur on ur own. Get food and water beforehand. I've stayed at legends and at samsara. Do yourself a favor....stay at samsara and venture out as you feel adventurous. ps. boat trip to Booby Cay with snorkeling and lobsters on island worth it. The red "glass bottom boat" with "Kuyaba" sign, see "Captain Happy" ...tell him I said so. GREAT TIME. Avoid Ricks Cafe.... expensive tourist trap and jumping at 40 feet dangerous. 20 feet ok for most. Respect man. Bring lotsa one dollar bills. Dont get sucked in by the higglers. You can have fun here I did: TWICE! Just be careful. Remember: NEVER go on the beach at night, in the dark. (no matter what).

"My vacation"
The service is great. The beach is beautiful. The rooms are clean but a little run down. Which is ok because how much time do you spend in the room. The beds are comfortable. The food is good and the drinks flow all day!

"5-STAR! a rare gem!"
What about the Westender? You guys are 5-star in my book! We just returned from a week there, November 2011. We felt treated like royalty and family all at the same time. This hotel is perfect for people like us; independent minded, desirous of peace and...... a piece of the Jamaica of years ago. The ocean front location is FOR REAL - it is your personal front yard. We enjoyed snorkeling in our own private bay whenever we wanted. Watching the sun set was a highlight and glorious way to wind down every day. How about the jam session in the restaurant that featured admirable versions of 3 Little Birds and One Love with Germaine, Kemar, and Calvin as back up singers and the bonus of a dissertation about Bob Dylan, by the nomadic 60's expert Steve.^) My wife enjoyed going next door to Jackie's on the Reef for massages. The WestEnder's snapper rundown, barbecued lobster and spicy jerk pork were outstanding. When we decided to get scooters the staff arranged everything. They were appropriately concerned when we left but smiled when we returned safely. When we traveled with the hotel staff, they quietly followed along, watching every move. Germaine you were great, both driver and security guard! The Westender set us up with Nelson and his nature tour when we wanted to visit Treasure Beach. Never a dull moment with Nelson who knows something about every plant growing along side the road, as well as any town we drove through. Nelson has mastered the science of mixing safety with social contact with the use of his vehicle's horn and brings humorous interaction with other locals, Ya Mon! Our room's air conditioner worked wonderfully after each adventuresome day and the wireless connection gave access to the outside world. From the quality sheets and comforters, to the tiled baths, to the taste of the furnishings, to the view of the ocean from the balcony, the room was awesome, and Karen our housekeeper attended to our every need. The thing about the Westender is getting to go back to your own personal hacienda each night. I think the staff all living on site brings out the family atmosphere. Finally, Keith as manager you're the man! Anything we needed was handled in American time. Great job!

"Perfect for Us"
We went to Jamaica expecting relaxation, and that is exactly what we got. Booked a Premiere Beachfront Suite (the only real bonus here was that we had a wraparound porch on ground level on the beachfront, any room looked beautiful there), which was open and clean. Had an incident about 4 days in where the ceiling started pouring water onto the bed, but fortunately we were in the room and able to save our things. We were promptly moved rooms and they gave us a free couples massage! Minor tip: book the free amenities early (sit-down restaurants, glass-bottom boat tour, etc) because they fill up fast! The staff was friendly and everyone seemed to genuinely have the Jamaican carefree spirit. Nothing like seeing the guy picking up trash singing happily at the top of his lungs, just because.

"Clean hotel near the end of 7 mile beach"
Travellers beach resort is a nice clean hotel. The rooms have been updated and the beds are comfortable. The hotel is right on the beach but the beach is not very wide. There is only room for so many chairs to lay in the sun. The security guard is really nice and always brings you a towel for your chair and makes sure that your belongings are safe. Most of the staff were nice.. the girls at the front desk could be nicer. It felt like they were doing you a favor when you ask for something. I was told that they had laudry service for a fee but when I asked to get it done it took 3 days before someone actually took my clothes. I asked the front desk and they told me to talk to house keeping.. I asked house keeping and they said to talk to the front desk. The front desk said to put it in a bag and the maid will pick it up. I put my clothes on top of the bed to make sure that they saw it when they came in to make the beds. They actually moved the clothes, made the beds and put the dirty clothes back on top of the bed! It wasn't until I got mad that someone finally washed them. If you need a coffee maker or fridge in your room there is a fee for each item for every night of your stay. There wasn't much of a gym there like advertised. Other than that the hotel grounds are nice and well maintained. Rocky, the man inside the store at the front of the hotel, was really nice. Free wifi which worked every where. The signal was great! _

"Can't Wait to Go Back"
Food: Actually food very good “Barefoort on the Beach” get there at the beginning of lunch or the end otherwise you will be waiting and waiting for your lunch. Sundowner very good very pretty if you want some different wine you will have to wait a bit, service was great wait staff lovely. Kimonos great new twist to hibachi made with some Reggae bogging, lots of fun. Food was great. Main restaurant “Bayside” lunch and breakfast buffet Great!! Dinner was also very good. Service was great. It is mostly outdoors if you don’t mind the company of some garlins that look like white herrings you will be very pleased. “Dino’s” was excellent, try to go late when it is cooler. Beach: Wow gorgeous keep walking along beach and find a sandy spots with less seaweed, however, who cares about seaweed with gorgeous three shades of blue and green water. Sand is cool and white. When in the water look down it’s pretty. However, not to scare you look for sea urgents. They are spikey star fish, very pretty but is you step on one you will be startled. I was swimming alongside a sting ray who was afraid of me NOT dangerous very cool. Vendors: very controlled believe you are not constantly bothered by vendors the resort guards let a certain amount threw and they are very courteous and polite not pushy at all. They carry some beautiful things take a peek. Drinking: Ok I am officially a wind snob; Beringer Chardonnay is not for me. So I spent a good amount of money on Bottles of “Chateau St. Jean” to the tune of $48 a bottle. The good news Berenger Red is good. The sweet stuff was delicious and pretty new exotic drinks served everywhere with a smile. Rooms: Well this is when it gets dicey. We had the Concierge Room yes it was fully stocked with liquor with a beautiful view and very clean, however it was dated the bathroom was dated and our water pressure was not so great. We did take a peek at the Crystal lagoon rooms, and the millionaire Suite, and let me tell you, they were gorgeous. Needless to say we upgraded to the Millionaire Suited gave up our view for a deluxe bathroom and a private terrace, living room, two big screen TV’s etc. etc. We could only have the last two nights due to our availability. Pool side: The main pool was fun swim up bar a lagoon in the morning they have activities I took some Salsa lessons it was fun. Then they have couples activities. If you are looking for a more peaceful environment around the pool go later in the afternoon they play calmer music and people are just lounging. Staff: They get my vote for being the most hospitable people on a resort and I have been on a view including the Ritz Carlton in Naples Florida. They were totally up to the Ritz Carlton Gold standards without looking for a tip. However, if you want to tip sneak it. They all deserve it. Night Activities: Piano Bar was fun then after that they break out to a fun disco. There is always a show at the Main restaurant stage which was very entertaining. The big attraction for the Young people was the Reggae Party on the Beach near the Cabanas. We wen early and the young people where having a blast dancing and around to a great Reggae Band and let me tell you that party went on to the wee hours. Made me wish I was young again and could keep up. We talked to some couple that stayed all night and they said it was a memory making fun filled time.

"This hotel is one of the nicer hotels on the beach"
We stayed on the street side of the Rondel. While we were there, they were installing a stop light which will help. There was always a crossing guard but sometimes cars would not stop for him. I still would recommend the street side as the prices are much more reasonable and the crossing of the street is no big deal. You are still very close to the beach. Be sure to take a street taxi on your own for 900 Jamaican (9.00 US) into town or to Ricks Cafe as the hotels want $10 U.S. per person each way. This allowed four people to travel for $9.00 each way total. Overall, we enjoyed staying at the Rondel.

"Quiet, intimate resort right on the beach"
We were seeking a quiet, intimate all-inclusive adults only resort, and being fans of the Couples chain, decided to stay at Couples Negril. No regret in that decision at all! The staff at Couples goes out of their way to make sure your stay is unforgettable and never leave you wanting for anything. Bar service was excellent and quick....same with food service. The food quality we'd rate an 8 out of 10 with no complaints. We enjoy nude sunbathing, and the staff does an excellent job of keeping the "peepers" and amateur "photographers" out of the area. The resort provides many activities to choose from, or they simply leave you alone if that is what you choose. This isn't the place to go if you are seeking a vacation with an abundance of nightlife. And we weren't, so this place was perfect!
