Mixed bag

Pros: The amenities
Cons: The service and management
Location: Close to La Rambla and Pocitos, pretty far from the Old City. In a residential neighborhood with many local-type restaurants.
The amenities of this hotel are very promising--we enjoyed a great rooftop pool, a pleasant sauna, good free wifi and breakfast buffet, and comfortable rental bikes. Unfortunately, the service and cleanliness are sub-par. The room's walls and bedding bear marks from previous visitors and the cleaning service was sporadic and minimal. If you complain to the front desk, be prepared to be met with defensiveness and excuses; if you complain to the home office, be prepared to be ignored. I think the hotel has the "raw materials" in place to be a good choice, but right now it is lacking effective management and an emphasis on hospitality. An exception would be the pool manager/life-guard who was very good at his job, even with a high-season crowd.

Great hotel--breakfasts monotonous

Cons: Variability in breakfasts.
The hotel stay was fine, everything in order. The only complaint was that after 7 nights, the breakfast offering was excruciatingly monotonous--exactly the same thing every day. Yes, lots of variety but the lack of variability was painful.
