My husband and I stayed for our anniversary weekend and we had a blast. The staff was friendly and assisted us as much as they could. The vibe and feel of the hotel was also very good. We loved it and will most likely be back.

"Best. Vacation. EVER!"
It was almost like being in paradise! I've been to the Bahamas...and this vacation far out classed that vacation. I did WAY more activities, but going to Jamaica beats the Bahama vacation hands down. The room my aunt and I stayed in was so unbelievable that the rest of my family had to see it. Their rooms were equally awesome, but not meaning to brag, but my aunt and I had the BEST room. I had plans of hitting the spa, doing a dolphin dive, snorkeling, horseback riding...but in the end, it was just too awesome to do anything but wallow in the sun and relax. The staff ALWAYS were so accommodating, always with a cheerful smile on their faces and a willingness to please. The only downside was the stay...it was so fantastic that it made going back to reality incredibly difficult! Truthfully, I almost cried when I left. This hotel stay far exceeded all my expectations.

"No need for a wallet! ALL INCLUSIVE LUXURY!"
Oh man where do I start with this resort? First of all we went for our honeymoon. Neither of us ever went to Jamacia previously. When we arrived Sandals had a nice place inside the airport where they took your bags and had a great lounge area as well. *Do not convert your money from US it's 15% fee and serves no purpose. The ride to Ocho Rios was just like driving in the US no crazy drivers or super bad roads. (We're coming from PA though so our roads rank last anyway.) Got to the resort and paradise began. Loved the fact that we had two butlers to help us but really didn't know what to do with them other than making dinner reservations. Room was nice but bathroom although clean seemed a little out of place for such a nice place. Mini bar was fully stocked with whatever alcohol we requested. The place has peacocks everywhere. Very neat. The french restaurant was a must. We actually did it twice it was so good! Orlando served us there and did great. Even took our picture. Actually all the staff was always offering to take your picture which my wife liked. The beach butler was Adrian and he knew what you needed and always keep the beach goers satisfied. (BTW Beach and personal butlers can take tip.. Beach about $5-10 a day and personal $10-20 depending on how you feel. We waited till the end to tip both but would have rather tipped Adrian the first day so he knew he would get something. (believe me he's worth it) Vurgina was the tour rep. She was in the lobby ready to help. We did the dolphin ride, tubbing and ziplining, and catamaran ride to Dunn's river falls. all of which were great. The Dolphin excursion was over rated. Swimming with the dolphins was amazing and the rest of that place was boring. We left early. I would recommend that instead of booking through the tour guide you use your butler to make you a taxi ride back and forth and pay just for the dolphin swim there, that way you can save money for the $50 5x7 pictures they want to sell you! All in all the place was so relaxing, no kids anywhere. We did go to the Rivera next door because they had more restaurants and had sushi at Soy, and ate at Neptunes. It was very neat that your butler went over there with you to get your meal started! (thanks Richard and Sheldon!) We will go back!!! The next day after we got home Mark the GM who talked to us at dinner one night called and asked me how our trip was and wished us well. (No sales pitch or sales talk, just checking in on us.Thanks for a great honeymoon Royal Plantation

"Anniversary get- a- way March 2015"
Totally awesome experience!! The staff was outstanding, as was the service. We had signed up for some of the excursions offered, but were so relaxed and with everything we needed, we never left the resort! I would recommend this to couples. There were people there in age from 21-75. There is something to do for everyone, whether it's keeping busy or just relaxing. We met some awesome people from all over the country and from England. A must is to visit the pool bar and have cocktails with Simone. She is most awesome!! I would recommend Club Mobay to get you thru immigration and customs if you are coming in on Saturday or Sunday. So worth the price of $30 a person. We love this place and will be back!!

"Would go again"
My first trip to Jamaica and I was pretty nervous about staying at the Carlyle. The hotel was nice we had a beautiful view of the ocean. The staff was cool and the activities were fun. It was a laid back vacation for me, there was some construction during the day, but that was fine, who sleeps the day away in your room anyway. The beach outside is a public one so be prepared for vendors approaching you to buy stuff...If your firm or act like you don't speak English your good, lol. We did go to the other resorts where we slept the day away on the beach (still have tan lines), drank like a fish and went on tours. Again the staff is very friendly, already planning my trip back.

"Love, love, love this place."
This was our 4th stay at CSS and w've never been disappointed. The grounds are gorgeous; the people are welcoming; this place is paradise. Complaints about dated rooms must be from people who aren't looking at the sunsets, the foliage, the skies... The rooms are immaculate. What more could you want from a room. You go to Jamaica for the beach, the food, the people, the sun. We'll be back next year and can't wait.

"Beautiful Resort"
The hotel is aesthetically pleasing. The decor is modern and contemporary. Being on the beach and in the Caribbean EXPECT lots of moisture. That includes in your room as well. The sheets on our beds always felt wet/moist. No matter how low you turn the air down it's still very humid and moist feeling in the room. The staff is very friendly and they aim to please; however, beware of ALL of the vendors/salespeople wandering around on the property. They continuously ask you to attend "VIP breakfasts" so that they can sell you other trips, or there are salespeople asking you to book excursions...ugh. It's constant. They're strategically placed in the lobby so that you can't walk by them without being harassed every time. It gets old FAST.

"Had a Great time"
We just returned home and it was my sons first trip out of the country, it was a long drive there but well worth it. It was nice to not have to figure out how much to tip all the time. They have a tone of activities for children and families, I don't think it is much of an (adult) resort, they are more family oriented which was great for us. Whoopie, Dice and the rest of the entertainment staff do a great job. My son is 14 and met a ton of new friends from all over, the staff was wonderful, Dwight and Arron at the swim up bar are the best bartenders, friendly with everyone and great with the children. The beach is a little smaller than pictured but it is very clean, we had our own snorkeling gear so did a lot of water sightseeing. If you go off the resort or to the edges you are confronted by alot of pushy people trying to sell things, but that is their livelihood, and you get it most everywhere you go touristy. Food was good, not alot of choices, but they were good. Rooms were clean. Would recommend the Dune buggy, Dunns River Falls and Bob Marley tours, worth every penny. Overall had a great time and would go back tomorrow.

"Private Adults Only"
This a European based franchise so the rooms are spacious. I had a garden view 2nd floor (called first floor) room with a garden view. This means you have a view of the side of the property and my side was facing a construction site next door (moving earth only) and the ocean. The men were moving dirt all day but I was never disturbed by the noise when I was in the room. The balcony is a nice size and there is a partition wall so you don't see your neighbors. There is a jet tub that was wonderful but it sits in between the sink and the bed so there is no privacy. the shower and bathroom both have doors. The shower is spacious and tiled and the water pressure is wonderful. The staff was amazing. They were always pleasant at the desk, the bar, and the restaurant. Everyone was sincere and positive. I loved the bartenders also because they entertained me on this solo trip. The rooms have cable with English (American), Spanish, and I think German programs to include world news. Tipping is not required but the right thing to do. I spent 3 nights at the hotel and I'm ready to go back. People who go to Jamaica have to be prepared to see a lot of poor living conditions but Jamaicans will most definitely make you welcomed. Hopefully people don't come to just get a tan and seclude themselves in a resort but come to learn and interact with the community. They will educate you.
