Housekeeping was definitely lacking, did not clean our room when we asked. And when our room was cleaned, it was not cleaned properly (did not replace towels, did not give shampoo/conditioner, etc). Building is deteriorating and old, loud construction everywhere. I expected much more.

Dear Griselda, Thank you for taking the time to share your comments regarding your stay. We are sorry to hear that our all inclusive package did not meet all your expectations. It should be mentioned that we have two different all inclusive packages and maybe the Elite one can adapt to your needs. We hope you can give us a second chance to attend you. Sincerely, El Cid Resorts.

We just came back from our trip..February 6th,

Pros: The food and the staff were great. The pool was also very large and nice.
Cons: The management should listen to their guests or else they may write a bad review!
Location: Good location, nice beach. Short ride to historic Mazatlan, which is a must see.
This is my first review that I've ever written. We just came back from our stay at this hotel. First, I must say the staff at the pool and restaurants were excellent, very attentive and always friendly. The staff at the lobby, not very friendly or helpful. We requested another room because ours was adjoining, well the door to the other room was so thin,it sounded like the neighbors were staying with us. They would come home late and we would have to listen to them party etc...we when requested another room, we were told "we reserve our good rooms for our members and maybe if you sign up for the timeshare we will switch your room". (told to us by the manager of the hotel) Why would I sign up for a time share, when this is how you treat a guest. Our tub did not work, the water ran really hot and really cold in the shower. You have to pay for WIFI, if you want a crib, you pay for that, don't leave dishes in the sink or you will be charged for that as well. I felt all they wanted was to sell us a timeshare and if you weren't a member you were second class. I wouldn't come back to this hotel.

Worst place I have stayed at in Mexico.

Pros: The people at the front desk. The agreed we were mistreated by management.
Cons: Not blame one person for another's action.
Location: Wasn't interested in anything other than photographing at the hotel which we were not allowed to do.
Paid for 1 day, used room for 3 hours, was not allowed to take any photos which is the ONLY reason we went there.

Great service!

I went last month along with other 5 girlfriends. Due to the safety concerns issued to travelers, we were a tad concern but once in the hotel we felt very safe. The service was excellent by the waiters in the pool and the restaurant. We loved the service at the La Cascada. The hotel is not a 5star hotel but it has what you need. We had several plumbing issues with the bathroom. There is no free wifi. There is a lot of national travelers and as an international travel you don't receive exceptional customer service you get in other resorts. We were surprised that they account for beach towels at the pool. You get charged if you don't return it. But overall, the service made a great experience for my friends and I. The pool staff and restaurant staff took great care of us. (It made up for the front desk, maintenance and management overall).

Great value for the money.

Pros: Close restaurants, great location
Cons: No free Internet
This is a very high quality hotel in a great location of Mazatlan. The staff is friendly and very efficient. The pool is outstanding, and the restaurants are top notch. My brother and I stay here every year on our yearly fishing excurision and will continue to do so.

Incompetant Staff Throughout!

The all-inclusive package is such a rip off. There's great food throughout the entire city and even with taxi service, there's no way you can spend $* per day per person for food and drinks and entertainment in Mazatlan. I found the majority of the staff absolutely incompetant at their jobs and for a hotel only 20 years old, the deffered maintainence is obvious. I stayed for two weeks and had numerous issues throughout my entire stay. They love to say they're sorry for your inconvenience but actually doing something about it, that's another thing. I wouldn't stay at this hotel. The beds are rock hard, the showers and tubs are all broken or don't work properly. Try the Mariana or just go to the El Cid in Cancun which is a great experience and location. There's just much better places to stay in Mazatlan. I never got to actually relax the whole time I was here because the hotel just has a "Lord of the Flies" mentality. Save your money and stay somewhere else or at least, DO NOT BUY the all-inclusive!

Great all-inclusive at El Cid Moro Beach

This was our second stay at El Cid and we went with the Elite all-inclusive. Although pretty expensive it makes life so much easier since you don't have to carry money around. The staff was absolutely excellent. We ate almost every meal at La Concha, and with the exception of one evening when they were having a special event, all food and service was terrific. We had two 15-year-old girls who loved the beach and the pools and especially enjoyed being pampered by having drinks and snacks delivered right to them anytime they wanted. A very safe and clean atmosphere for having your kids with you. I highly recommend. One precaution, my husband who loves the ocean, was stung by some type of poisonous fish which required a visit to the doctor and five shots. The sting is very rare with tourists, but is extremely painful. Just be careful in the water since there are also jelly fish and other small stinging animals.
