"rave review"
We loved the hotel. It's in an ideal location. It's a charming size...more comfortable because it's small and staff was excellent

"No-frills but decent Chicago Hotel"
My daughter and I spent 2 nights at the Comfort Suites in March. We had a Queen Suite room, which was great for us. It had a nice King bedroom and a pull-out sofa bed in the separate living room. It also had a nice kitchenette, but we only used the fridge. (to store leftover AMAZING pizza from Giordano's which is about 3 minutes away!) The hotel is older and the rooms could use a serious update. Our room was clean and we had no complaints re: cleanliness. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hallways are super tight and the elevators are tiny. We didn't take advantage of the complimentary breakfast. We grabbed a cab for a quick trip to Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum. Also close enough for a nice walk to Navy Pier. We had a nice stay and if you are ok with an older hotel that doesn't have the glitz and glamour of, say, theWIT or some other newer type establishment---it's a good stay.

"Cool, but not completely up to par"
I spent one night at the Dana when I was in town to see a show. The hotel was cool, with urban decor and the amenities you'd expect. The room was small, with only a patio door and no windows, which made it seem even smaller. The tiny patio would have been fun, except that the door didn't work correctly. For that matter, the TV didn't work correctly either. But they fixed both for us quickly.

"Once In A Lifetime"
A budget buster for sure but what a great spring break experience. Sprang for the deluxe suite with river view for a few nights. Also selected the Kids package which includes hats and cotton candy at the door, personalized milk and cookies for them at night, Wii gaming, $60 meal voucher, valet parking, etc. The staff was very professional but very cordial and made our kids feel super special. This is the first time we've really felt that we got our moneys worth even after breaking the bank to get it. Also the decor of the entire hotel was outstanding including the restaurant on the 16th floor. It was truly like an oasis in the sea of sub standard hotels and we didnt want to really leave. Secret Tip: There is an excellent Italian pizzaria just around the back of the hotel less than two minutes walk that served very reasonable priced pizza and pasta which was very authentic and super good.

"Must stay at the James Chicago!"
I can't say enough good about the James Chicago! We stayed for my daughter's birthday weekend, and I raved to my husband upon our return that EVERY person we encountered at the hotel was friendly and helpful. I'd recommend the James if you expect excellence and are surprised when it's actually in place. Being from the South, I'm always looking for truly good hospitality, and our trip to the James and the city of Chicago was outstanding for friendliness and courtesy, and as a bonus--good manners. The James staff demonstrated a real and genuine care for the quality of our experience while in Chicago overall, and not just trying for a good review. Do yourself a favor and stay there. Additionally, you can't beat the location, which is in the center of everything.
