We have stayed at NH Collection Hotels in may countries over the years and found them to be our go-to choice. However, we had a couple disappointing stays on our recent trip to Brussels & Madrid related primarily to cleanliness. As to Madrid the Hotel is is a great location. Breakfast was very nice. The Hotel is is need new carpet and furnishings. The carpet was simply dirty & worn out throughout the areas we saw. Furnishings in the Bar area were becoming threadbare. NH Collection is no doubt entertaining updating at least those items so as to meet, what we have experienced in the past, there very high standards. The staff in both locations did the best they could do with the challenges that met them. The items we observed, despite their best efforts, were beyond their control. The responsibilities, of course, reside with Ownership and/or management. Covid time has contributed to the many challenges that Hotels have to contend with.

Great Location
This is the best location to visit the 3 main art museums and old town squares. The staff are quite responsive especially Francesca the concierge. The facility itself is a little tired with mildue odor In the 2nd floor hallway. The “superior” room is small and housekeeping forgot us a few times in the evening.
I would stay here again for the location but in a larger room.

Location and value!
Our only slightly more expensive "superior" room was fairly large with a very nice bathroom and a great view of the Neptune fountain. Street noise was not a problem, at least on the fifth floor. The location is probably the best in Madrid, withing walking distance to museums, shopping, and a multitude of restaurants. While it may not be the Ritz or the Westin Palace, the value is hard to beat. The "modern" tapas restaurant in the hotel was also very good.

The hotel was in a great location. It was very clean and very nice. I found the internet to be annoying. Other than that it was pretty great!

Cons:No free Internet
The internet is only offered in the lobby which is very annoying. The rooms are very nice. Very close to the museums and the park. The restaurant that is located in the hotel is very good.

A smart modern hotel that is a real value just steps away from the Prado
Pros:Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, clean and modern
Cons:poorly lit rooms
A little jewel of a hotel so close to the heart of Madrid Art. The building itself is modern and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable - were a great help when my friend took ill and we had to find a doctor in the middle of the night. Computer and lounge rooms are useful.
Only "complaint" is that the high-ceillinged rooms are somewhat dim and more/brighter lights are needed.
