"Low Key Paradise "
Palms Negril is a low key paradise. Loved this resort and will most definitely return. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean, but a bit sparse, ie no shampoo, or extra furnishings, ie chairs, draws, just a bed and tv stand, and in-closet-cubby, but there is a beautiful balcony with a table for two outside so it really never set us back, just organized everything on the floor against the vast wall space. Also, though they appear to be renovating, half of the rooms have very charming slatted doors, but with no screens, so the bugs eat you up at night, so we learned to close the slats before sundown to avoid being feasted on, bring your bug-spray if you get an non-renovated room. Everything seemed very well thought out, with very beautiful grounds and layout of the facilities. The ocean side pool is beautiful and clean. Designated Beach security guards keep you free from the peddlers if you request them to (though some have some exceptionally delicious fresh fruits and juices), and restaurant was exceptional, but as with the entire island, bring your patience to the table and don't go starving, everything is prepared fresh on island time, so the wait can be lengthy, but absolutely worth it. The staff across the board was always happy to help, outgoing, laid back and friendly. I will be sure to return here again.
