"A lovely hotel"
The room was wonderful, really a studio apartment without a kitchen. Queen bed, living room area, all tile bath with sunken shower, and garden patio overlooking the courtyard complete with string hammock and cafe table for two. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious and relatively reasonably priced. My wife also liked the new, since December 2011, jewelry store off the lobby, which she says has some very unique items.

"Always a Great Stay!!"
We just got back from our 5 day stay and it was great. We've stayed at the Barcelo 3 times now. Our first and second were amazing. The third trip was okay. The steak house was close for hurricane season but that was fine with use (steak house is the BEST) we ate at the buffet and I'm sad to say that the food quality has gone down. Breakfast buffet was still delicious but you get tire of it. We did have access to the premium room but even their food was disappointing. Staff and service are always helpful. When we arrived our AC was not working they sent maintenance but it still was hot and we were moved to another room. My husband did have to be a little persistent that they needed to change our room but in the end we got one with AC. The down side about being on the 6th floor is that the elevators were out!! We had to walk quite far to use and elevator or take the stairs. The resort is always gorgeous and it was not busy at all this time so we had no problem getting reservations at the restaurants or getting in at the spa. We were told that the Hyatt was buying out Barcelo and should be change fully in November. I'm not sure if we will stay here when the change first happens but I'd love to come back if they can up the food quality to what they had. Overall I think this is the best hotel for the price.

"Older hotel but very well kept"
We were very pleased with the3 hotel and most of the staff. Food was excellent! Be sure to make dinner reservations. Without them they will not seat you even if the restaurant is over 1/2 empty!!! Time share people are a pain! Overall, I would definitely go back.

"Beautiful place, reasonably priced"
Nice staff, very helpful and accommodating. Pool was small but sufficient. Nearby hotels were noisy some nights. Restaurant was pricey but good. Only complaint was the barkers on the beach incessantly trying to shove cigars and beads in your face. But that was no fault of the hotel. They didn't even take any of your precious vacation time to try and push a timeshare on you. My recommendation: rent a car to visit other beaches but the stay here was nice.

"Trapped"
The Westin Hotel in Cabo is a beautiful property.  Professional staff, excellent service and great food.  It's almost all inclusive if booked with the breakfast and club level feature.  You can expect to shell out some serious cash for anything you don't prepay.  It's also a hotel far enough away from everything that you NEED a rental car.  Taxi to Cabo is 28 dollars and to San Jose Cabo, (Much nicer town) is 18 dollars.  This adds up quick if you want to enjoy the area.  There are trade off's with seclusion.  Lastly, this is a great hotel for the kiddies.  There is a kids club and tons of activities.

"A nice, relaxing hotel."
Stayed there early in 2012 after the 2nd building was completed. It is not a large Hotel, it is a quiet, relaxing, somewhat private spot as it is a time share place. They were almost booked while we were there but there was NEVER a line for anything, and the pool and its deck were NEVER crowded. Food options were limited, but very good. They told us they were preparing for an actual "restaurant" to have mor eoptions, but breakfasts were good, lunches were also tasty, but the dinners they had for their themed parties were VERY good. They also had specialty (pork, seafood, etc...) tacos during lunch time. Drinks were reasonable, including $12 pitchers during the early afternoon I think. Water aerobics at 9:00 am to get the blood flowing, and they have a decent excercise room. The pool was AWESOME, and the deck let you lay out all day. My wife SO happy to just lounge and relax all day. They have a warm "hot tub" so its easy to relax in that for a while without getting too hot. They also have a big fire ring/pit that I think ran off of natural gas to provide some warmth during the cool evenings. The had 2 computers with free internet available for use 24-7. The rooms were spacious, and have washers and dryers as well as a fridge. The only downfall was the 1/2 mile walk to the main road to catch the bus. Its narrow and dark. But, the ride into Cabo on the bus was fun and lots to look at. There is a restaurant close to the Welk just off the driveway, it looks like a white shack, but once inside it is very nice with quiet live music and the steak and lobster was very, very good. We sat thru the timeshare presentation to get some goodies, including a free dinner susnset cruise that was an absolute BLAST. They had a live band that played a lot of great American rock classics, and the drinks were free. The waiters always made sure you had a drink in your hand (that way they get good tips), so we got fairly loaded (Thats was a good thing!). The presentation was VERY LOW PRESSURE and it was kind of neat to hear about the information on the hotel. We decided it wasnt for us, he smiled and shook our hand and told us to enjoy our stay. The beach area is private, and nice wht palm trees for some shade. But it was about 100 steps down to get there, and back up to get back to the hotel. But it was not a big deal and very worth it. This is a definite place to consider. I would not hesitate to go back!
