Going down their flight time was changed thank goodness we arrived at the airport two hours early was never informed about the change of flight times. coming back flight left late. got to the gate other Jet was in our gate we were half hour late barely made our connecting flight to DC which was late. they lost our luggage even though we pay $20 per bag to check they lost three pieces. did receive the luggage the next day. I wasn't for American airlines the trip would've been above average

Nice resort and beautiful scenery from our room.

Pros: Pool activities. The food was good and the restaurant was also excellent.
Cons: Towels. We were only given two hand towels.
Location: The location was excellent. It was not in Cabo, San Lucas, it was in San Jose which is in the middle of San Lucas and downtown. Excellent location.
Hotel very nice and on the beach. Entertainment and activities at the pool were awesome. Pool volleyball, water aerobics was awesome. We really enjoyed our stay at this resort.

Nice hotel with great staff on the beach.

Pros: The infinity edge pool with chairs positioned to look out over the pool to the ocean. All inclusive package.
Cons: Housekeeping throughout our stay -- although our room was very clean upon our arrival. Bring your own music, as piped music not too great
Location: Long stretch of beach for walking, jogging. San Jose del Cabo a long walk, but doable.
Just returned from a week at the Barceló Grand Faro. This was our second visit and was consistent with our experience the first time. The hotel does a lovely job with it's breakfast buffet and it's dinner buffet is good. Lunch is more of a snack than a meal there. The pools are the main focus of this establishment and most of their activities are centered in this area. The more you do, the better time you'll have. It's good, family fun -- even if we were all adults, there's a kid in all of us. The service for drinks around the pool is very good -- especially if you have Carlos as your waiter. This is the best waiter any of us has ever had -- anywhere! And our group was not the only ones to say so. Elisabeth at the front desk was my go-to person. Extremely efficient, patient and always helpful.

Ok hotel, no swimming on the beach

Pros: The best thing about the hotel was the entertainment. They put on a show every night and it was so fun!
Cons: The check-in process and the food could be so much better and more efficient.
Overall, this is an ok hotel. The check in process was tedious and required us to stand in a very slow moving line twice because we arrived an hour early and could not get our room keys until the check in time of 3pm. We were allowed to go onto the facility which was nice, but then we came back at 3 and the line was long and took about another 30 minutes to receive our room keys. The room that we originally got was looking straight out into a construction site with two double beds for my husband and I when we were supposed to get ocean view king bed. They were able to provide that, it just made me wonder why they did not do that in the first place. The other problem with the room was that we got locked out not once but twice because the key pad needed a new battery and after the first time waiting in the middle of the night to get let into our room, no one came to change it until the next day. That was really annoying. The food was okay. I would suggest getting dinner reservations every night and not going to the dinner buffet. It was not enjoyable at all. The fish that I had one bite of was soggy and like mush. My husband actually developed diarrhea towards the end of our trip, he was a little more adventurous with the food than I was.

Everything great except for front desk

Cons: Staff at the front desk, please train them properly. They are very unkind. One of the guys actually showed irritation towards us. So terrible.
We enjoyed all the facilities and restaurants very much. Room was okay, even though we(three people) had to be assigned to a room where there was only one king sized bed. However, on the day that we checked in, it was really terrible. Staffs at the front desk had no idea what they were doing! We waited almost 3 hours to be assigned to an empty room. Twice, we were assigned to those rooms that were already occupied. Everything they do was extremely slow. They pick up phones and chitchat in front of customers even when the line is really long and it was obvious that people were very tired and getting more and more irritated. Other staffs like bell boys or servers from restaurants, they were really great and nice. But the problem is the front desk. Please you guys should do something about them. maybe train them again and make the system more organized. I am sure that i will never go back to that resort or any other barcelo branches just because I am afraid that similar thing might happen. It was so terrible that we wasted our entire afternoon just to wait for our room. Additionally, we had to carry our luggages here and there!

Everything but the food/drink

The hotel and grounds were great. Clean, comfortable, etc. The pools are not huge, so it is a more intimate resort as everything is close together. The rooms were clean, very spacious and comfortable. Mini Fridge kept stocked with water and soda which was nice. The bad was the dinner choices. Breakfast was decent, made to order omelettes and delicious chocolate croissant roles. Lunch was not great but you could grab a burger, fajitas or chicken nuggets, nachos, etc. from the snack bar at the pool. Dinner, we only tried it one night at the Sit Down Italian restaurant. Ordered fettuccine alfredo and it was basically buttered noodles. The wine was old, from 2001- 2009 for Pinot Grigio. So we ate off property the rest of the trip. Not worth our all inclusive. Also, the drinks were not ideal. The mixers other than soda were all way to sweet. And the bar service was slow as was the wait staff around the pool on week days. Weekend days the pool service for drinks was much better.

Not sure if we would come back

All in all I think this resort was a good resort. Pros - We liked that it was smaller and easy to get around and find out friends. The food was great. Cons - The main pool which was suppose to be heated wasn't heated so we couldn't use it at all, and several times during our week there the hot tubs weren't heating. You would think they would make sure to always have the extra parts they needed to keep the pools and hot tubs up to par. The pool bartenders and wait staff really lacked in speed. They should've had more wait staff walking around the pool areas. At other resorts I've stayed at you never had to wait around for a drink. I would definitely go back to San Jose del Cabo, but I'm not sure if it would be at this resort.

We had a great time.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and the hotel was delightful. Although, swimming was not recommended, the beach was beautiful with the opportunity for long walks in both directions. The cons were the stinginess with the towels, and the fact that the concierge tried to rope us into a time share presentation when we asked about excursions. Be carefule of the room you book. We had an oceanfront room which was wonderful but we talked to people who had garden rooms and were subjected to loud music throughout the night.

Nice place to stay but a bit pricey for what you get

We have stayed at many resorts in different parts of mexico. This was our least favorite out of them all. There was not much to do at the resort and for half of the stay we felt like we were the only ones there. This is a family resort and we brought our 3 children. At times some of the staff made us feel as if our children were a bother. Other staff members were great and went above and beyond. We were with out children the enitre time and they are good kids so would hate to see how they would be if someone had a child that was naughty!!!

Nice Hotel

Pros: location, beach
Cons: Poor breakfast, food
The hotel, rooms, and pools were nice. Food was not very good. Service was very slow at the restaurants that you had to have reservations for. Bartenders were very nice and pretty quick. Not the best hotel I have been to.
