This was a fun little motel very close to the pier. We found our room to be clean and comfortable although a bit small (the shower was barely big enough to turn around in although water pressure is good) only real complaint was no air conditioning. Friendly staff and convenient location. Good option in Santa Monica

They sold my 500.00 shoe I bought for my son. Who is coming back after a 4 year stint. And he really wanted theses shoes. And someone STOLE THEM FEOM THE HOTEL

The location is excellent. Long ago this used to be a darling apartments and the new owners kept the built-ins and the feel of Southern California courtyard living. I really enjoyed my night here. Parking was on site and there’s more shopping than any human needs within walking distance. The ocean is a block away and while there’s no view I could hear it from my room

Great location

This place is great if you have ever lived in LA or Santa Monica and are visiting again. It will remind you simultaneously of what you loved and why you left ; ) which I mean in the best way. If you haven't been to LA or SM before and/or have that gauzy romanticized version of "California" in your head - this place might be a rude awakening...We loved the location and not having to drive at all once we arrived (Though the parking fee is astronomical as per usual in LA area). So easy to walk down to the beach, 3rd street, and all the other great parts of Santa Monica Beach area. I guess I don't know how to describe it to anyone who hasn't lived in LA before. If you are looking for a standard or upscale, cushy experience do not book here. If you know and love LA for what she is you'll love it here! I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, close to the beach, charming style
Cons: Poor breakfast
After reading the very negative reviews from a few years ago, I felt I had to make it right. I stayed at this hotel with my family about a month ago. The personnel of the hotel was very nice and helpful. The rooms were very clean (and I am usually pretty picky). Of course, rooms are not as big as in more modern hotels. Our bathroom was small and did not have a shower, but we got over it (it was just for a few nights anyway). The style is very 60's maybe, but it has its charm. And although 60's, it is not dusty. It is actually kept pretty up to date. Only negative (although we did not see it as a problem): if you rely on the advertised free breakfast, you might be disappointed, it is very minimal. But there are many nearby places where to go for breakfast so that ended up not being a problem at all. This hotel is very well priced for the quality and location. I would definitely go there again.
