We were in a very small room with a strange layout. The bathroom door couldn't open all the way because it bumped into the bed. We knew the room was small when booking and it wasn't a major issue.

Boutique hotel, great location

Pros: Location, neighborhood atmosphere, very helpful and friendly staff
Cons: Room size, but then you lose the historic building, so nothing
Location: Quick trip by tube or bus to anywhere in central London; reasonable walking distance to theaters, the Thames, anything in Westminster, the Tate
Our intention was to avoid large chain hotels as much as possible. We found The Blades to be a small, welcoming hotel with very friendly and helpful staff in a picturesque neighborhood of old townhomes. It is conveniently located only 5 minutes from the #24 bus stop and just around the corner from the Pimlico tube station, so it was easy to find on our arrival from Heathrow and well-located for travel to all of the main sights in central London. Breakfast didn’t include hot food, but there was an ample variety of cold selections, and it was available early enough to be able to enjoy it and still be on time for a 9 a.m. tour departure. Due to a knee injury we needed a minimum of stair climbing, and they were very gracious about meeting that request. Our double room on the first floor was none too large, but it was well-equipped and our stay was very comfortable.
