MGM Massive not Grand

Pros: The pool
Cons: better service...
Location: good
It might be because I am just over the Vegas thing but this hotel was so crowded with people everywhere you went. The hotel rooms are very nice and clean. Most of the staff were pleasant except for the Whiskey Bar where the service was horrible. The bar tender broke martini glasses right in front of me...didn't apologize...asked me if I would pick up the glass off the floor AND didn't wipe the glass off the bar! Meanwhile I had just purchases 2 glasses of house wine for $14 each. The restaurants were kind of the same...overpriced and food just ok. I do not mind spending money if the quality is there but this hotel is way too big and the staff just don't seem to care much about the service. Never going back,

Casino bars will not serve you drinking water

Pros: Rooms were new and swanky!
It's been a while since I've stayed at the MGM Grand and they did some very nice upgrades in the rooms. My group had a great time while we stayed there, but my experience at one of their casino bars ruined it. I was the Designated Driver for my group and it was a really hot Vegas night. I just needed a glass of water to cool down, so I went to the closest bar near their Sports Book. Asked the bartender and he straight out denied me! He said, "I can only sell you bottled water". Really? It's just a simple glass of water! In the future, I'm not staying at the MGM or any of their affiliated hotels, I'm sure other Hotels will be happy to provide a simple glass of water for free.

Not what I expected for a 8000 room hotel

Cons: follow ups
On check in went to room, shower had not been cleaned fron the previous guest. Lights in bath area would bot work, was told to re set the GFI. Two days later no lights again, and called the front desk, after telling the housekeeper. 4 hours later guess they were fixed. no note, no nothing. Lighting in room poor, not even a comfortable chair, guess they want you on the gaming floor instead.

Smoke

I know a lot of people who come to Vegas smoke but it was too much for me. After an hour on the floor I smelled like an ashtray.

Nice hotel

Our stay was very nice. House keeping Staff is friendly. Took us a very long time to check in. There were two employees at the desk just chatting away. Our room was very away from elevators, had to walk down a very long hallway and it was carpet so rolling your suitcase down that isn't easy. Overall it's very clean but is not worth the money we paid to stay there.

Beautiful hotel on the Strip

Pros: VERY reasonable room rates, friendly staff, beautifully decorated rooms.
Cons: Almost non-existent bathroom vanity area to store/place toiletries, difficult to locate light switches, hallways needed paint in West Wing
Location: Near everything on the Strip.
This is my third stay at the MGM Grand. First two,stays were in the Grand Tower, this stay I booked a room in the West wing. The room was small, with updated modern furnishings. Very comfortable bed. Loved the porcelain tile bathroom.

After weeks of researching Vegas Hotels and reading many mixed reviews, we finally settled on MGM Grand. We got there, upgraded our room to a strip view for a fee and was not disapointed. I would stay there again.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The staff was great. We didn't have any meal that wasn't exceptional from the MGM restaurants. Although there were a few kids this hotel has more of an adult atmosphere.

Cons: dont stay there
I had to try both of the twin beds in the hopes the other was sleepable...sadly neither was - the mattresses were old and well used...
