"Beautiful setting, great service."
A beautiful hotel, right near the beach. Great pool area, and a nice quiet room. My balcony overlooked the pool, but in the distance, I could see the ocean. The service was wonderful, with one minor qualm. I got the feeling that the concierge, helpful as she was, didn't inform me of all the option available. I felt that I was being directed towards certain (high-priced) activities. Having said that, I understand that any concierge at the Ritz-Carlton is probably used to guests for whom expense is a minor consideration. In spite of that, I found the concierge helpful. There was another small issue when I telephoned for information about my upcoming stay. Just a minor glitch. One evening, I was enjoying a snack overlooking the ocean during sunset, and I was extremely impressed that the server knew my name before I paid. I'm still not sure how she did that, but that is Ritz-Carlton service. I also found that me cell-phone did not work at the hotel, which cause a minor annoyance with a tour that I had scheduled, but again....the experience was wonderful overall. The location is beautiful, but it is quite a distance from the airport and many of the activities on the island. I certainly don't blame the hotel for that, but it is worth noting. I may consider staying at a hotel closer to some of the other sights on my next visit. On the other, hand, you really can't do better than this place. I loved it!

"Amazing Hotel/Resort !!!"
My wife and I stayed in the Ocean Tower for 7 nights and it was amazing! The "Heavenly" bed was very comfortable and the room was newly renovated and beautiful! A/C and balcony were great and TV was very nice! Beautiful pool and lobby/entrance with waterfalls and Flamingos, Koi Fish, and Swan. Ice cold fruit infused water awaits you in the lobby along with greeters offering shell necklaces and fragrant flowers! Pool and beach are amazing as was the service poolside. We will stay here again without a doubt! Perfect location next to Whaler's Village and 5 min walk to Black Rock where we went snorkeling and saw 2 Giant Sea Turtles!! This really felt like a 5 Star Resort!!!

"Best Hotel on Kaanapali Strip"
Kaanapali Beach Hotel is not the fanciest or newest hotel, but the location and classic feel cannot be beat. I will definitely be back to this hotel for years to come. The grounds of the hotel are lush and tropical with lounge chairs all around to enjoy the grounds. You are literally 1 minute from walking to black rock for snorkling or two minutes walk to shopping and food at Whalers village. I loved the information breakfast the first morning and when you leave they present you with a necklace to remember your stay. It is a very classic resort and reminds me of old Hawaii. It is very clean and the staff was friendly and nice. My wife and I would lay on the sand at night right out in front of the resort and enjoy the surf and stars. If you are looking for a cozy, relaxing hotel with amazing location to everything, this is your hotel. It is better priced than the surrounding hotels and I has a much better feel and Hawaiian quality to it.

"Perfect place for family vacation"
Paradise! Beautiful rooms. We had a two bedroom suite, my sister-in-law had a one bedroom for her family of four. Located close enough to Whalers Village to walk to. Centrally located on strip of hotels to walk to luaus or other hotels. We used the grills several times and had nice family dinners in our room. The pools are nice. There is a good size pool plus a "quiet pool" for the grown ups, a wading pool for little ones, and two hot tubs. Free wi-fi near the pool area. There is a nice beach, although the surf can be a little rough for the kids. The tennis courts were awesome! We have no complaints about this wonderful place.

"Very nice property"
We just got back from Kaanapali Shores. Stayed seven days but spent most of our vacation exploring Maui. The time we spent at the condo was great. We upgraded to a two bedroom ocean view. Expensive upgrade but worth it all in the end. Only negative was a small ant problem in the kitchen area and one of the bathrooms. I told front desk and they had someone come up and spray the areas while we were out. Overall a very pleasant place to stay for vacation. The beach next to the property is just ok. There are nicer beaches near Kaanapali so try to visit those spots as well. One beach next to the Westin and Kapalua Bay were our favorite locations. The Shores does have two decent swimming pools that we enjoyed. Rented a cabana and the pool staff was excellent. Rented a paddle board and chairs from them and they were very helpful and friendly. Overall very high on the Aloha spirit.

"Very nice accommodations!"
The staff was very nice! Rooms were clean and up to date! The bed was a bit hard for my taste but still clean and comfortable. We had a nice partial view of the ocean and the island from our 9th floor room in the tower. There are two pools and the ocean is just a few steps from the pool. The beach by the hotel is clean and not overcrowded. We snorkeled just down the beach at Black Rock, no need to do a fancy excursion. We saw turtles, rays and a variety of fish! I would recommend this resort to anyone wanting a nice beachside hotel near Lahaina shopping and restaurants.
