Better places to stay in Lombok

Pros: The rooms were great for kids as they were connected by a private foyer which meant we could lock the main door and keep the two room doors open.
Cons: Information on the hotel in the room would be great. New towels and robes would be good too.
Location: I didn't like this part of Lombok. It was close to the airport so that was handy but otherwise I'd stay on the other side of the island.
We only stayed one night before flying out having come from a beautiful villa on the other side of the island. We chose The Novotel because it was close to the airport. Overall it was just ok. I didn't like this part of Lombok (it was dirty, dry and barren and there was rubbish everywhere.) The hotel itself was pretty run down and the food etc was expensive for what it was. It wasn't terrible and maybe we were spoiled at the other location. But we won't be back. There was no information in the room about where we could eat so we were left to wander around with hungry kids trying to find a restaurant. They also overcharged us for the room and I'm still waiting for it to be reversed. Lombok is a beautiful place to visit but there are definitely better places to stay.
