"Amazing"
My husband and I just came back from staying a week here. The time flew by. We weren't ready to leave this place. Amazing hotel and staff. Everyone was courteous, went out of their way to help us, the valet guys knew us by name. It was one of the nicest we've stayed at. One of the reasons we booked it was the smaller size. However, if you want huge, more pools (there was one nice one) and more options this is not this place. The views were nice and access to the beach. It is very a quick walk to Poipu beach also. Red Salt was very delicious and other restaurants across the road and nearby. We would definitely stay again if we return.

"Best Ever!"
My wife and I have stayed at countless resorts but this was hands down the greatest experience (so far) that we have had. The staff was amazing and the grounds were spectacular. We never wanted to leave.

"the perfect choice"
There are several types of travelers. Everyone has thier own idea of the perfect experience. you may have the money to choose to stay in the most expensive hotel with all the luxeries they have to offer, or mabe you are like me, and you want to find a hotel where you feel at home and are able to keep that extra cash in your pocket to spend on all of the wonderful activities that the island of kaua'i has to offer. The Garden Island Inn could not have been more perfect. The price is unbeatable. they make a vacation in paradise affordable for anybody. But the price is not the most attractive quality of The Garden Island Inn. The owners and the staff are simply amazing. To them, it is not a business, it is a way of life and when you stay with them, you feel like family. They understand the importance of your vacation, and they have a thousand different ways of making sure it is everything you ever dreamed of. That is so important because for some of us, it may be the once in a lifetime dream vacation we will ever get on the islands of hawai'i.  The rooms are so colorful and festive. they were painted by a local artist. Just being in them feels tropical and magical.  They take care of you in ways that no large commercial hotel could ever hold a candle to. They make sure you know about all there is to see and do on the island. They give you a map and by the time you are ready to set out on your first adventure you already feel familiar with the island thus saving wasted time trying to figure things out by yourself, or even worse, asking for help from a tour guide stand. The people at the Garden Island Inn wholeheartedly tell you everything they can so you can make the most out of your vacation. thier advice is not to sell anything. when they make suggestions about one thing or another, it's because it is a place or an activity that they enjoy doing! We all know that every minute is precious on a vacation like this so what better way to make the most out of it when you have a friend giving you all the advice and pointers you need! Most of us go to enjoy the beaches. None of us pack beach chairs when we fly to hawai'i. Not to worry when you stay here. they have everything you could possibly need or want to set out and enjoy the beaches! all FREE! Beach towels, chairs, water toys, sunblock, aloe vera sunburn lotion, coolers, the list is endless! Who does that? Only people who make thier hotel your home away from home!  It is quaint and comfortable.  The hotel is central to everything.  It truely is the perfect choice and will be my choice again!

"better than expected"
Rooms were great - we hade a "garden view" condo, with two bedrooms, living room with pullout couch, and kitchen. Went with 3 adults, 2 kids. Our view was of the pool which was nice, and could see part of the ocean. Kitchen had fridge, microwave, oven, can opener, silverware/settings. There was a washer/dryer. Main bedroom had nice big bathroom with big shower. The shower head though was pretty small for the size of the shower. Air conditioning units in both bedrooms worked well, but main living room did get somewhat warm. There were plenty of warning about the ongoing construction, but this had little to no impact on our vacation. There was not excessive noise (but we were a bit away from main building under construction). There were occasional workers doing odd jobs around our building. The pool was great for the kids, very large, not deep, beach sand around it. Don't count on any privacy in the hot tub though, kids just go in that too. Wifi internet included, but had to enter a long username and password everytime you logged on which became annoying. Poolside grill ok. Overall very pleased and room much nicer than we expected. Would definitely go again.

"Great Hotel"
My wife and I stayed in this hotel from 4/21 through 4/28. It was very quiet and clean and far from the maddening crowd. It was great to have a microwave, refrig / freezer, and plates / bowls / silverware so we could reduce costs by cooking some ourselves. There are also outside barbecues, but we did not use them. I'll stay there again if I ever get back to Kauai.

"These are older condos, but very clean and comfortable. Be sure you check on the location within the complex, because some updgrades are worth it."
One stumbling block.....they contract the pool rights and the pool is only open until 6 p.m. We found that to be a little inconvenient, but otherwise it was a good place to stay.

"wonderful honeymoon!"
I was really happy with everything.... though we did upgrade to ocean side because the street/ Safeway side ("mountain view") was not pleasant or mountainous. Grills, hot tubs, pool were great and the room and kitchen outstanding.  Subzero fridge!
