The property is beautiful and the highlight to me was the private beach, which they groom every morning. The hotel seems dated but if you look at it from the themed Hawaiian decor, it really is not too dated.

Ling Ling at the front desk was amazing. She resolved a booking issue quickly. We stayed just after an Easter event and chocolate candy was left in the carpets the entire time we stayed there. The carpets and bathroom in our room hadn’t been cleaned. It was gross. Room service was very pushy. They didn’t seem to understand what the do not disturb signs mean. Austin was very helpful down at the pool. Answered all our questions and set up everything for us. The beach was amazing and not very crowded. Parking can be a challenge. There aren’t enough spots in the garage for guests. Unless you want to pay for valet.

Staff person tried selling us this and that upon checking in. We were zooed after a long travel day and just wanted our luggage, that they took from us upon arriving, and to get in our room. We found the food good but way overpriced. Loved the free shuttle and the driver Gary. Saw a bit of deferred maintenance, such as unclean carpeting, rusted railings, mildew in the tub and chipped paint, dirty lobby cushions, etc. Was surprised to be honest. Otherwise, our room was very pretty and comfortable.

This property was incredible: private, gorgeous beach and somewhat secluded. The pool was nice, and we loved having the dolphins on site. The rooms are starting to look a bit dated, but we could not have chosen a better resort. Will definitely stay here again!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Kahala Resort. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy -- housekeeping staff were in at least twice a day; once for cleaning and once for turn down service and additional cleaning. The breakfast buffet was perfect -- from fresh fruit juice to the made-to-order omelets! Restaurant staff was friendly and well organized. We never had to wait for than two minutes to be seated. We weren't there to hang around the hotel and hadn't planned on doing any swimming so I can't write a review for the pools, but they did look very inviting. The dolphin and fish/turtle pools were wonderful. It was a great treat to watch the staff feed and otherwise care for the dolphins. Always a fun photo opportunity at any time of day. All in all, a great stay for us and we would certainly return to this property during any future trips to Hawai'i.
