"Would Return in a Heartbeat"
We loved this hotel!! The location was awesome and walking the neighborhood was so pleasant. The decor, comfort of bed, bathroom, balcony, etc., were all phenomenal! We did a roadtrip from San Fracisco to La Jolla, staying at 8 diffrent hotels...this was by-far our favorite!! I am not too fond of paying $45 to park but I still think the hotel was worth it if you are getting a good night's price.

"A best western dressed up in anime"
Imagine a best western with anime inspired decor. The rooms are comfy enough and conveniently located near Japantown. Our room was clean and the service was sufficient. The gym is tiny and only has three pieces of equipment. I would stay here again do to its affordability and location.

"Great hotel, friendly staff, would be back"
Being in a "ghetto" part of San Francisco (Little Saigon), I was somewhat hesitant to stay here, but I'm SO glad I did. It would only be ghetto if you were hanging out on the blocks outside your hotel, but walking the few blocks to shopping didn't make me feel even slightly unsafe. BEST pool, super warm so even with the winds of San Fran it feels good, room was very clean, beds were pretty comfy, FREE PARKING (unheard of in San Fran), and staff was VERY friendly and helpful. There was an event happening at the hotel the Saturday we were staying there. The pool was closed off and there was loud music so that was frustrating. We decided to go out instead of relax at the hotel because of this. I voiced my frustration politely to the front desk as well as the manager the next day, saying that I wished we would have been informed of the event because didn't get to relax like we had wanted and had to make other arrangements. They were VERY nice about it & said they weren't even informed of the event until the morning of and so they had no chance to warn guests, as they always do. They seemed frustrated themselves so I don't think this is a common issue. And even with us having to change our plans, I will absolutely be back. One of the most relaxing trips I have had in San Fran to date, a big thanks to this hotel!

"older/cheaper option in ideal location"
i have stayed here a few times because of the location, and generally has been one of the cheaper options in the neighborhood. rooms are nice enough and a decent size. could use some updating of course, but i doubt that will happen anytime soon. seemed as clean as they could get with the aging decor. tv had good service, but terrible quality. shower pressure was surprising strong. even at the end very end of the hotel, you will hear the street traffic, but nothing to really lose sleep over. in one of the ideal SF neighborhoods, tons of restaurants, easy walks down to the marina, chinatown, north beach, or bus to other parts of the city. the wifi was painfully slow a lot of the time. asked for an extension on my reservation and was given a discounted rate, even more than using online coupons, so doesnt hurt to ask if you need extra nights.

"Great location - away from tourist area"
We really enjoyed being walking distance to Golden Gate Park. Great place to walk or bike. Location is ideal. Hotel is modern. Definitely revamped. The only thing they should do is put more effort into their bathrooms. The rest of the room was great - definietly remodeled. Should have done the same with the bathrooms. Great location though so worth staying. Was clean.

"This hotel far exceeded my expectations! They were extremely helpful whenever I had a question and I loved the vibe and decorations!"
Hotel Carlton is a great boutique hotel with a Middle Eastern flair. I had no idea what to expect since it was my first time ever going to San Francisco. The room was comfortable, clean, and had great style. The restaurant, Saha, was the best part! Eggs benedict with fava bean cakes and avocado was a unique dish I have yet to see anywhere else. I would definitely stay here again!

"Decent Price Hotel in SF"
Overall this hotel was a decent place to stay. It is in downtown and you get a typical downtown setting. But the rooms were acceptable, clean and comfortable, the price was good for SF and there were numerous places to eat within walking distance. It also had free on-site parking which is a big plus for SF. Overall I would recommend that if you are looking for a decent priced hotel with comfortable rooms - this is a good choice - but be aware of the fact that you will be in downtown - and expect all that comes with being in a downtown location. I had a room for two nughts and my mother had a room for one night before checking into UCSF for surgery. Both rooms were clean and comfortable.
