"A Wonderful Experience!"
Even though we had been warned in advance that the hotel was undergoing renovations, the view when we pulled up to La Fonda was disappointing - the entire facade was covered in plastic wrap! I had no idea what we would find inside... But, what a wonderful surprise - the hotel inside is as lovely as ever, and the rooms are all newly renovated and updated with hand-painted headboards, tile artwork in the showers, and lovely Southwestern furniture. I had only booked a standard queen room, but the one we got was on the top floor, with a 10 foot long private balcony overlooking the Loretto Chapel, and a very comfortable king bed with duvet. We also enjoyed breakfast and dinner in La Plazuela, La Fonda's restaurant in a renovated courtyard with a fountain and charming hand-painted glass windowpanes. Because of the ongoing renovations, the pool was closed and some other areas were off limits, but there was no noise or construction interference at all. We were very happy and enjoyed every minute of our 4 nights there.

"Very Santa Fe!"
Loved the Santa Fe style of the hotel and the convenient location just off the plaza. Excellent concierge! Quiet property! The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 was due to the view from our particular room.

"Nice room...great location...great price"
The room was very nice. The hotel was interesting and is in a great location. You won't find a nicer hotel at this price in downtown Santa Fe.  They also serve a great breakfast at the patio restaurant on the second floor...although it is not included.

"A Taste of Northern New Mexico"
This is a beautiful property located around the Loretto Chapel, and conveys the essence of northern New Mexico to the visitor. I find the bedrooms a little dark, at least those on the north side of the hotel, but they are comfortable and well-appointed. We have stayed at this hotel throughout it's history, and continue to find it relaxing and appealing. You should note that there is a daily resort fee, and a daily valet parking fee (pretty necessary because parking in downtown Santa Fe is very limited).

"Excellent location in Santa Fe"
As other reviewers have noted, the best thing about this hotel is its location in the center of Santa Fe, in easy walking distance to churches, museums, galleries and restaurants, and a very short drive to Museum Hill. If you have a car the hotel's parking lot is handy and we never had a problem finding a space. The broad hotel portico, with tables and chairs and friendly bar service is very nice. The rather grand old-world lobby is pleasant. Our room, listed as a Deluxe King, was smaller than we expected for the price and had a somewhat awkward step-up bathroom, but it was nicely furnished, very clean, pleasant, bright and quiet - very comfortable. WiFi service was good. Staff was friendly and helpful.

"Wonderful morph from the older Territorial Inn"
I've stayed at this property many times when it was called The Territorial Inn. I've always liked the location and the hotel. About 3 or four years ago, The Territorial Inn closed and was going to be turned into office condos of all things. Then a recession hit and one time about a year or two ago I was looking for a room in Santa Fe for a friend (I live in Taos now) and found this hotel with a familiar address on Marcy called Luxx. It was the reincarnation of the Territorial Inn. Since then, I've stayed twice and it's perhaps even more lovely than it was before. Some might miss the breakfast, but for me that's no loss. The rooms are nicer than before with flat panel TVs and a Netflix connection along with cable. The wireless is better and the whole hotel is upgraded from it's previous self. It's not a high end hotel, but certainly luxurious enough for me. I'll stay there again when I need to spend a night in Santa Fe. The location is terrific as well. All of the attractions and restaurants are within walking distance as it's only a block from the Plaza and about 4 blocks from Canyon Road.

"great room and stay"
We stayed for four nights during 4th of july.  the location is great for walking to the plaza.  It is also good if you want to visit outside of Santa Fe as it is convenient to the main road through Santa Fe.  Breakfast was good but not great (we usually do not eat a large breakfast - OJ seemed fresh, fruit was good).  We found the bed (king size) to be quite comfortable.  Room was good sized.  Staff was good.  Perhaps having Hilton Honors helps?

"Wonderful room and staff..restaurant food average."
We found the Eldorado a wonderful place to stay. The staff was friendly and helpful and the facility was very nice. The location is great. Our only suggestion would be to improve the food. We had the dry aged rib eye. It was tough and tasteless. The previous night we ate in the lounge. The burger was good but the steak tacos were dry and tasteless. Five Stars if not for restaurant food quality. So, stay at the Eldorado but eat at the many wonderful restaurants on the square. Tia Sophia and Blue Corn were both excellent.
