"Surprised"
Although we did not get good reviews when we told some of the locals where we were staying, the place was exactly what we needed. A place to sleep. The staff was nice and although the location was in an industrial area, it was what we needed. IThe location was close to the airport and Pearl Habor, Whale watching, and Waikiki.

"Affordable for Waikiki"
The most affordable hotel in Waikiki. Rooms are "cozy" and ok for couples but not families. Bathroom is really small but serves it's purpose. Walls are a little thin so you can here people walking in the halls. Good place to stay if you're on a budget

"Back Again"
There I was, back again. Thirty years ago on my first trip to Hawaii, I stayed here. I loved it then with my wife and children. I loved it now alone. I love it's location. I love its nightly poolside show. My room was nice and quiet and I could watch the nightly entertainment from my sixth floor balcony.

"Weekend in Honolulu"
I was only there for a weekend to attend my uncle's funeral. The staff was very willing to help with whatever you needed. They helped me many times with directions driving or walking drawing maps. They were always friendly. The fresh ice water was nice to have after a day in the sun. The hotel was clean and met my needs.

"Pleasant and great location"
We come to Hawaii every year and this was our first visit to this hotel. The amenities were nice-beach chair and towels and lunch to go! Didn't like having the same food for breakfast-always the same items offered. Coffee was delicious and really close to the beach was nice. They were re-doing the pool area and it was noisy, but the entertainment at the pool was great during morning breakfast, just no where to sit-had to fight for a table to enjoy breakfast. great overall!

"Almost perfect"
The only complaint we had was that we were never informed until we arrived that some of the days we had NO choice in our parking and were forced to pay valet parking - this does NOT seem right at all. Since we are your customers and the only way we'd have a car there would be to rent one, we were not only forced to pay for parking, but also forced to pay for valet parking due to the 4th of July. The room and the staff were excellent, but paying for parking & valet on top of that was far more than should have been expected or demanded. Otherwise, we loved staying there.

Welcome to "The Big Pineapple!" Say "Aloha!" to beautiful white sand beaches, ancient volcanic craters, and year-round balmy, tropical temperatures, all within a bustling metropolis that offers every conceivable modern convenience. Such is life in Honolulu, Hawaii's state capital. Located on the island of Oahu, Honolulu is home to an exotic blend of Eastern, Western, and Pacific cultures. In addition to being a major travel destination in its own right, it is the city through which most travelers enter Hawaii. Each year, millions of tourists and businesspeople fly into Honolulu International Airport, the principal Honolulu airport. Hotel buildings and a volcanic crater known as Diamond Head frame the popular Waikiki Beach, where you'll find many of these travelers spending their days sunbathing, surfing, or swimming in Honolulu's famously warm waters. If you're looking for a relaxing vacation in a thoroughly modern island paradise, look no further. With Travelocity, it's a breeze finding the best deals on Honolulu hotels. So what are you waiting for? Browse through cheap hotels in Honolulu today and book your accommodations for the vacation of a lifetime.

    Attractions in Honolulu

A trip to Honolulu would be incomplete without a day spent at Waikiki Beach. This famous white sand beach is known for its consistently sunny skies, stunning views of Diamond Head, and perfect conditions for beginning surfers. If you don't know how to surf, why not learn? The neighborhood of Waikiki has many surfing schools that give lessons. Or maybe you'd prefer a relatively painless trek to Oahu's tallest accessible waterfall, the breathtaking Manoa Falls. The trail leading to the falls passes through various ecosystems filled with the island's unique rainforest plants and animals. Be sure to bring your camera! Manoa Falls offers amazing sights begging to be captured on film. It's no wonder director Steven Spielberg chose to feature the waterfall in his popular movie Jurassic Park. If you're looking to socialize, attend one of Honolulu's many luaus or perhaps an authentic hula show, like the Kuhio Beach Torchlighting and Hula Show. Held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday evening, the free show begins with the torch lighting and ceremonial blowing of the conch shell. The performers proceed to tell the story of Waikiki's history through music and dance. It is a fantastic way to spend a relaxing evening outside on the beach.

    What to do in Honolulu

The best spot for surfing depends somewhat on the time of year, but on an island the size of Oahu, you're never far from a beach with perfect conditions for catching some waves. Surfing is practically synonymous with Hawaii and it's a great way to have fun with friends and family or on your own while in Honolulu. If you've never set foot on a surfboard before, there's no time like the present! Honolulu has plenty of surfing schools that offer lessons for beginners. Go for a swim with the sharks! There are tour companies in Honolulu that will take you cage diving, so you can get up close and personal with these largely misunderstood animals. Educational and unforgettable, these shark tours are not to be missed. Perhaps you appreciate the beauty of the ocean, but you'd prefer to stay on dry land. For staggering views of the shoreline, hike the Diamond Head Summit Trail. Starting inside the volcanic crater, the steep trail climbs up the side to Diamond Head's highest point, where you'll be able to see old military bunkers on the crater rim and a phenomenal vista of the island and ocean below.

How about an afternoon of inspiring artwork at the Honolulu Museum of Art? Founded in 1922, the museum now houses a huge collection of works from well-known European and American artists like Picasso and Warhol, as well as Asian and native Hawaiian artists. Don't pass over this cultural gem, open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. If the idea of swimming with sharks didn't sit well with you, but you'd still like to commune with creatures of the deep, stop by the Waikiki Aquarium. The second oldest public aquarium in the United States, it now plays host to over 400 different species of sea animals and plants. It makes for a wonderful educational activity for children, but people of all ages can enjoy the variety of marine life on display. The hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. For a moving trip through history, be sure to visit the USS Arizona Memorial. The memorial was built in 1962 and marks the spot where 1,177 were killed on the USS Arizona during the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. The hull of the ship lies exactly where it sunk and the memorial now sits directly above it, without touching it. Tickets to see the memorial are free, but you can reserve them for a future visit for a small fee.

    When to visit Honolulu

Sunny skies and consistently warm temperatures year-round mean there's never a bad time to visit Honolulu. Hotels fill up more quickly in the summertime when families are going on summer vacations with their children, so be sure to book your accommodations early with Travelocity. The weather tends to be only slightly cooler and stormier during the winter months, and the city remains a popular destination during this time of year. Tourists visit in droves around Christmastime, perhaps escaping the snow back home. Beaches in Honolulu are emptiest when school is in session in the spring and the fall, so if you like to avoid crowds, these are the best times to visit. Regardless of when you decide to come, you'll be in love with this magnificent city from the moment your plane lands at the Honolulu airport. Hotel bargain hunting has never been easier, so pack your bags (don't forget your swimsuit!) and head to the nearest airport; Honolulu hotel deals and outstanding travel packages through Travelocity are your passport to bliss! Don't worry about a thing, because Travelocity can help you find and book the cheapest hotels in Honolulu. Hawaii, here you come!
