"Great hotel for the price!"
We booked this hotel for a one night stay before our flight home. The hotel is conveniently located to great restaurants, shopping, and the beach. When we checked in we were told that our room was upgraded. We were pleasantly surprised!  The room was spacious and very clean.  My husband and I had booked a morning tour of Pearl Harbor that unfortunately ran 2 hours over. The hotel allowed us to have a late checkout with no additional charge. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family!

"Worth the money"
We didn't really spend a lot of time at the hotel room, so the 2 queen bed room was fine for us. The staff was VERY helpful.

"Change in plans"
We had booked 2 rooms with a request to connect or be next to or across from each other. We have 4 kids from 14 to 6. When we got there they told us they were only able to put on different floors. This would not work of course because they were full. They worked out a solution and apologized. They put us in the Presidential Suite and only charged us for 1 room! It was absolutely beautiful! They were so kind and quick to help. They were MORE then generous. The grounds of the Village is amazing. The beach is right there. There is shopping, restaurants and generally nice people. The bus stop is across the street from the hotel grounds so you can get anywhere you want.

"Banyan Classic Ocean rooms"
Street-side the Moana Surfrider is situated on busy Kalakaua Ave. The port cochere, with rocking chairs and practically connected to the Honolulu Coffee Co next door seems to absorb the Waikiki traffic. Once inside the foyer seems an entity until itself, not really directing you in any direction (check-in, courtyard, restaurant). Once we figured out go right to check in, we got our keys to a corner top floor Banyan Classic Ocean room. Room was cosy and simple. The sound of the waves on Waikiki beach and views of the coast and Pacific ocean were magic. Would love to stay again.

"Nothing extra-ordinary but good location and value"
My husband and I stayed there for a week. The hotel worth the pay we payed. We were looking for something not very expensive and to be in walkable distance to the beach. Stuff is nice. Breakfast is pretty good: cereals, toasts, bakery items, coffee, tea, juice. Obviously, there are hotels with better furniture and everything with design, but those cost twice more expensive. Therefore we got what we paid for. The hotel met our expectations, and we have no complaints.

"An Adventure"
Here's the long and the short of it. Overall Value "Good". Parking - No matter where you stay in Waikiki be prepared to pay up to $40 per nite. Aqua is no exception. It was disappointing that I had to find out after I checked in that there is a $23 fee for their p lot, that is of course if you can squeeze in there (which you can't late at nite), OR there is the Industrial p lot which is closed from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.? not sure, but is like parking in a Blade Runner movie, OR there is public parking around the block for $20 a nite. Like I said, I wish corporations would start thinking of the guest and quit the "add ons" after the fact. Prostitution - plentiful from 10:00 p.m. to 6 a.m. Not a nice comment on Kuhio Ave. But families be forewarned. Lots of 20 somethings with nothing to do late at nite........real late at nite. Nitely room price is very reasonable for a reason. If you can deal with the above (as I happily did, sans the prostitution) the Aqua is an okay Waikiki hotel.

"Pleasant"
Pleasant old hotel.  It is near the middle of Waikiki beach, adjacent to shopping centres, but is surrounded by lawns and trees, so it feels more like a suburban resort than an urban hotel. Pro: Quiet, clean, and comfortable rooms. Adjacent to the beach: excellent for swimming. Adjacent to Waikiki shopping centres and restaurants. Surrounded by lawns, tropical plants, and trees. Attractive architecture, carved doors, and art including a painting by Herb Kane in the lobby. Friendly and helpful staff. Con: Slow check-in. Resort fee in addition to room tariff. High costs, so stayed there only half the desired length of stay.

"Truly a Heavenly Experience"
We stayed from Friday to Monday and it was the perfect setting for relaxing and being treated well.  We spent most of our time on the lanai so that we could soak up the Diamond Head and ocean view.  The nightly music at House Without A Key was audible from there as well.  We love everything about Halekulani!!!
