The place needs some love. To say it was a pit would be a compliment. Also, the front desk lied to us about the availability of a room. We showed up at 2 PM. The front desk said there were no rooms. Then 15 minutes after we left the front desk we got a text telling us we could early check in for a fee. . If we could get a room for a fee then the desk should have told us that when we were standing there. My wife and I have traveled around the world and can evaluate a place in about 5 minutes if we take our time. Too bad the location was the only plus as it was on the river. We stayed at the Grey Stone Lodge went there to the front desk and got a room for 1 night. I think your website says they only take 2-day reservations. The Grey Stone is a great place to stay and repeat visitors get a 15 percent discount.

It was a good room for the price. It was distant from downtown Gatlinburg. We had done a long hike the day we checked in and had to drive to dinner.
