such a cute property the staff was wonderful. My husband called without my knowledge and asked if they could find some flowers to have in the room because we are celebrating our 20th anniversary. They took care of that and were so sweet the bed is comfortable. The pillows are amazing everything that you would need is here, great location walkable to most of the town. We really enjoyed our self. ., great location walkable to most of the town. We really enjoyed our self.

Hi David, Thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed your breakfast and the ferry is very close. Next time instead of walking up the hill, you may consider a short taxi ride to our Inn. Hope to see you again. Glenn Innkeeper and the entire San Juan Island Inn Collection Team

Look out for hidden charges

Cons: Communication at check about added charges.
I booked the San Juan Suite for one night in June 2015 for my family of 7 through Travelocity. The Suite was fine, but after paying for the room and taxes upfront on Travelocity 4 months before our stay, two separate charges went through on my credit card that the hotel charged, without seeing a bill or being notified of the charges. Call the hotel to get the real costs with all hidden charges. A $500 room, ended up costing over $700!

Cute and cozy, near the ferry...

Pros: Great location and very well manitained. the staff was very solicitous.
Location: We had a nice dinner and the Cask & Schooner. There is a very good bookstore in town - Griffin Bay Book Store.
We had a short overnight stay at the Tucker House Inn, traveling through from Sidney to Orcas Island. The accomodations were quite charming and the staff very helpful. The Inn is ony three blocks from the ferry terminal and two block from the downtown shops and restaurants. Our room was very clean, although (since it was the last one available that night) it wa a tad "cozy", we were quite comfrortable. The bathroom in this remodelled 'Victorian' cottage was quite spacious. Our concierge was nice to await our late arrival from the ferry and to give us good hints on local dining spots. A three course breakfast served in a common room with other guests was more that we needed, but too delicious to pass up. Overall, we found this place accidentally, but will make an effort to go back and stay longer.

Terrible Experience and very disapointed! THE JACUZZI WAS COLD UPON ARRIVAL AND THE FIREPLACE COULD NOT BE USED. OWNER DOES NOT CARE!

Pros: Free breakfast
Cons: poor customer service, jacuzzi was not hot upon arrival
The owner Anne Marie does not care about the guest experience. We arrived to our private jacuzzi on "economy mode" and barely luke-warm. Although I asked them to turn up the heat after arrival, it still never got hot enough to use. The owner told me that it was hot after we checked-out, however that did us no good for our 1 night stay. The fireplace worked but continually set off the fire alarm so we had to stop using it. The hotel was aware of this problem as they mentioned it at check in but felt it was not urgent enough to fix (their words). I chose this room for the amenties of the jacuzzi and fireplace and was very upset that neither were useable. When I complained to the owner, she handed me a $20 bill as compensation. I was offended by this and explained to her that I can deal with a cold jacazzi and non working fireplace at home and that I felt I was paying for something I didn't receive. The owner told me I was already getting a reduced rate (because I booked same day and received their last minute special) so she refused to discount the room any more. So basically, I am out $150 and never got the pleasure of what I was paying for. DO NOT STAY HERE. Choose one of the many other B&B options on the island where the owners do care about their guests. This property lacks any customer service skills or a caring owner and is not worth the price! :(

Orcas Suite A Disappointment!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants
Cons: Noisy, water leak, thin walls, room old/shabby, bad tv setup
We were very excited about our weekend away, ready to relax and enjoy our beautiful room. The location is wonderful a VERY short walk to the ferry and main street. The room however is a disappointment. It is very old and shabby, the floor is so crooked that everything kept wanting to slide off the small kitchen table! The bathroom has a bad leak coming from a corner of the jetted bathtub, a VERY small television is mounted to the wall on an arm that swings so you can try to see it from the sofa bed or from the Queen bed. It does neither! It is too small to see easily from the couch and the bed is turned sideways to it so only the person on the side of the bed facing it can watch at all. So much for relaxing and watching movies with the provided dvd/vhs player. There is a sad and tiny fireplace that looked like it might be electric, but it could be gas, we did not use it. The small deck with the "private" tub was nice, except it is under a street light and you are looking into people's houses across the street, the "view" is peek-a-boo between houses. The breakfasts they brought to our room each morning were very good and it was a great convenience. Maybe some other rooms have already been remodeled, but this one has not and really needs it! The walls are also very thin and we were woken up several times by the small child staying next door. If you decide to come I would recommend checking the website photos very carefully before booking a room here, if it does not show the room from multiple angles I would not try it or have low expectations. We will not be coming back, for the same price there are much nicer places to stay!

Great Place for Friday Harbor Visit

Tucker House is a group of period houses cobbled together into a wonderful inn of bedrooms, short hallways, spacious shared spaces and wonderful staff. Our upstairs room had comfortable and attractive furnishings, fresh cookies each day, and an amazing bathroom: spa jacuzzi tub and a very large separate shower, all new and well done. The inn's location is a positive: three blocks from the ferry and one block from the shops, galleries, and nifty restaurants which make Friday Harbor fun to visit. Only one drawback to the Tucker House, and maybe this applies only to older folk: Friday Harbor is a village build on hillsides, and the one-block climb up from the ferry is very steep and tiring if carrying luggage. The walk to the inn is fairly flat after that, but we were dismayed to find that 'check-in' at the House required another one-block steep climb with all the luggage. If you have serious walking or stair-climbing problems, maybe Tucker House is not for you... UNLESS you are coming to Friday Harbor with a car.
