Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel

"Great Hotel and Location"
My daughter and I were visiting as part of her graduation present. This Hotel was Awesome! couple blocks from the Metro, and depending on how far you like to walk, walking distance to the white house and National Mall(although I would recommend taking Metro to the National Mall since you walk a ton while there). This hotel is apparently host to many business conferences which means a ton of people at once, but don't let this deter you as we never ran into any issues. The lobby area is so nice and classy with many areas to sit and relax. The price of the hotel was about the same as many that were outside the downtown area and much nicer. If you are visiting for a tourist trip to DC, certainly consider this hotel. If this is the first time visit, definitely get comfortable with the Metro as it is inexpensive and you can take it everywhere you would need to go. One short taxi trip that takes forever because of traffic is equal to about 6 trips for 2 on the Metro. You can get a metro card and easily add money to it as needed. Plus it's just cool if you have never been on subway. There is also a fedex/kinkos right next to hotel in case you need to print out reservations made for tours. Definitely look at the places that need tickets reserved in advance although many you can make the day before you go so you can keep a flexible schedule. The monument, holocaust museum and Pentagon are ones you want to make before you go as they fill up. Also, if you like malls go to Pentagon City.

The Henley Park Hotel

"Small Hotel--Good Deal"
The Henley Park is a small, older hotel in a fine location--just across Massachusetts Avenue from a monster Marriott under construction. It's clean, comfortable and reasonably priced by downtown D.C. standards. Curiously it has no ice machines available for the guests, but a call to the front desk brings a quick bucket of ice to your room for the price of a tip. Staff helpful. I did not use the food service during my brief stay. Probably not a good place for children.

"fine convenient location, excellent value"
Arriving at this hotel is somewhat off-putting as some of the surrounding neighborhood is undergoing revitalization. Nevertheless, I had selected this hotel partly because of its location, and I walked to many places from there and felt as safe and secure as one would feel anywhere in a large U.S. urban area. The hotel itself is in fine shape, beautifully maintained, and my room was exceptionally large. All in all, an excellent value and I will not hesitate to stay there again when I'm next in that area.

"Disappointing but adequate"
There was no cell service in the hotel especially in our room. Web reported room came with free wifi. Only free wifi was in the lobby. Very inconvenient . When I asked @desk they were aware of what the Internet said but said it wasn't available in the room. Parking had almost $10 per day in additional taxes above the $39/ day advertised.  Breakfast was terrific. Omelets cooked to order.

"A good experience"
Love the location.  2 blocks from Chinatown/ Verizon Center/ Metro, 6 blocks from the Capitol.  Valet parking is available at the hotel, but you can find cheaper parking within 2 blocks away.    This was a family vacation to DC & we had a room w/ 2 queen beds. Beds were comfy, room seemed a bit smallish, but did have a safe, microwave & small refrigerator. Kids loved the pool & hot tub and we made use of the fitness center.  Breakfast was excellent, but it gets a little crowded if you don't get down there early. Staff was friendly & helpful. Would definitely consider staying here again.

"Charming hotel in great location"
We really enjoyed our stay at the Morrison Clark Hotel. Our room was very charming & comfortable. The staff was great & the location is ideal, within walking distance to the main attractions. I was concerned about construction noise after reading the reviews but never heard any.
