I didn’t appreciate that there was no elevator. Also would have liked the option of an electronic key and a key pass. Was not given an option and having just the electronic key was a problem.

The hotel design was very unique The beds were very comfortable. The room was a good size for being in the city. There are plenty of usb plugs so the whole family can charge their phones.

Better than expected- pretty expensive for the space though. Upgraded to jr suite; equates to a “normal” sized hotel room.

Beautiful boutique hotel with lovely touches. The bed was ok, but I have a bad back so I didn't sleep well. There is no room service which may not be important to a lot of people, but it is definitely a perk for me.

Noise travels a lot so if you have a loud neighbor or insensitive guests who would stand in the hallway and have a loud conversation in the middle of the night, you are out of luck. Noise from outside at night was quite loud, too, but we knew we were in NYC ;) Otherwise, great stay!

Staff were really nice and helpful. Location is great. My tiny room was a little bit clunky--I kept bumping into things and turning on the wrong switches for lights....no big deal though. Most of all, my room was QUIET.

Overall great hotel for price & location

Travelled with 2 adults & 3 teens. Picked this hotel after an exhaustive search to find a room to accommodate all of us in the city that didn't cost a fortune. We reserved the family room with 2 queens & 1 twin. Location was great!! In the city, several great places to eat nearby, close to subway & a bar next door. Not the most upscale area but still nice & we never felt unsafe. Hotel was very cool! They've done a good job renovating into a chic place while still keeping some old charm. That said, they were still renovating. I had read that the staff pushes you to upgrade & they do but not eccessively. They sent a few emails & asked when we checked in. We asked to see both rooms to compare & they obliged. The pics when you book are definitely of the upgrade rooms. We did upgrade because the upgrade was more spacious (especially the bathroom), the room we booked was on a lower floor that was being renovated (noise), & the upgraded room was ready/clean at check-in. We were on the top floor & had to climb stairs, but it was nothing compared to the thousands of steps we walked each day touring & they carried all our bags up for us. The only real negatives I have: there was a strong paint/chemical smell that they apparently had an air filter going in the hallway for, they left our windows open every day when they cleaned - letting all the AC out, & each day we only got 4 towels & had to ask for a 5th ... which got annoying after the 3rd or 4th day. Overall, I would recommend.
