"Cool place to kick back"
The Ace was an extremely relaxing place to stay. We were there for a week, and most of our preconceived plans for that time frame quickly got replaced with "Ehhh, let's just lay by the pool." The saltwater pool is warm and refreshing, and the spa is great. Be sure to get to the pool early and claim your spot, however, because even though there is a myriad of pool chairs, they get snatched up quick. My only complaint was the price of the drinks and the service at the bar/restaurant. Things move a little slower here, and a can of cheap beer will cost you $6. Don't worry about it though, man. This isn't a place to get frazzled, it's a place to relax. The pool is open from 6am - 2am, and there is something going on every day - be it karaoke, or a DJ dance party. During the weekend, this place is a hangout for hipsters and the pool is packed. During the week, it's much more of a family atmosphere - be it a very cool family atmosphere - but the pool is filled with kids during the week. The beds are huge and the rooms are very trendy, cool, and relaxing. I especially like the polished concrete floors and open glass shower. You can also rent a tandem bike for free and there's wifi available everywhere (be it a little slow). Overall, I would recommend the Ace. Get a 30-pack of Tacate, sneak it into the pool, and you're golden.

"A Wonderful Surprise!"
We read some uncomplimentary reviews, but I got a steal-of-a-deal on room rates, so I adjusted my expectations downward. What a pleasant surprise to find a charming hotel, and pleasant staff. We stayed in the Lanai portion in the back of the property. The room was clean, with upgraded features, comfortable bed, and quiet surroundings. The pool was clean, with plenty of chaise lounges for everyone. With the tiki torches burning, and twinkly lights overhead, the ambiance at night was magical! We loved it and it will be our choice if we ever go back to Palm Springs. To those who said, "dated" I guess you mean the lobby. Big deal. Who spends more than 5 minutes in the lobby?

"Walking distance to Villagefest"
I chose this hotel because the prices were better than usual due to it's being under construction. After a long days' drive we wanted to be able to walk to the downtown Thursday night festivities.

"Really, really basic Recommend with reservations"
I have never stayed in a Motel 6 and didn't know that almost all amenities are missing. There was no clock, toiletries, closet, dresser, toilet lid, carpet, fridge, iron, hairdryer. Yes, there were 2 double beds, a TV, half-circle table, 2 chairs, small bookshelf, a small stool that was the nightstand, a telephone, sink, toilet and tub/shower. Very small room with just the basic necessities. I think there was less than 2 feet between the beds. It was very clean and the AC worked well. After all, this is Palm Springs so that's a necessity. Luckily, my husband couldn't get away from work and didn't travel with me because he would've been really annoyed. However, for one person, just me, it was suitable and comfortable. I wouldn't advise more than one person living in these small rooms. One person would probably have to sit on the bed to let the other pass by. It was quiet. I didn't try the pool.
