    "Very Comfortable"
Stayed at the Hyatt Regency Merida on my first trip to Merida. I had come for a long weekend (President's Day) from Miami. The 1 hour 40 minute flight frim Miami was a breeze--as was the taxi ride to the hotel. The hotel was perfectly fine. The staff was very welcoming. We stayed on one of the club floors and found it very easy to connect to the internet w/a laptop, iPad and iPhone. The morning breakfast/evening cocktails were also pleasant. The room was comfortable, and service was satisfactory. Tipped the maid ** pesos a day. When we left on Monday morning....one of the bellman took our luggage (small amount), while I settled up some minor charges at the front desk. As the bellman went to hail a taxi, the other 3-4 bellman waiting thanked us for our visit, asked us when we would come again and wished us a safe journey...all in English. This was amazing. These were 3-4 guys who just missed out on a tip (* pesos or so, not a lot)---but instead of being disinterested or bitter even---they thanked us for our visit and asked us to return. This left a nice impression on me.

"Perfect location for visiting Chichen Itza"
Beautifully landscaped gardens and hacienda style architecture makes you feel like you are in an old movie setting, and the private entrance to the ruins is just steps away from the main building. The room is somewhat spartan , but that is part of the charm of staying in an old hacienda. The breakfast is wonderful with plate of tropical fruit and fresh squeezed juice . Overall, it's a lovely experience.
