"So So"
Rooms very nice. Beds HORRIBLE. No hot water our entire stay. Grounds immaculate. Pools great.. drinks flowing. Food ~ would have rather eaten off grounds, had it not been an all inclusive. Food needs work. Faculty - great.

"Great for Divers!"
We are just back and had a great trip ... even though it rained the entire time (not the hotels fault, obviously! But we found umbrella's in the closet provided to use during our stay to get around the hotel grounds!) I am going to be as straight up as possible. For those that this is to long to read it all - know this The on site dive shop DIVE PALANCAR was Fantastic! and the valet for your dive gear was Soooo nice and worth the extra tip to them at the end of the week! Regarding the "promo's" - If you don't want to be bothered with the "vacation package" sales pitch , just tell them NO nicely, with a smile, and mean it - and Don't use the "free" entertainment deals they offer (because you Only get them With the sales pitch!) - and they Will leave you alone. If food quality and variety are a major part of your vacation enjoyment or fine dining is options are criticle, you are not going to be happy here. Do ask questions and ask for whatever you need or want - water, extra towls, an umbrella, directions, information or whatever, we found that ALL of the staff tried to be helpful and accomodating - Now into more detail; most of the reviews were at least partially correct.... yes there is allot of walking, but the grounds are Beautiful and it was fun to spot all the lizards, iguana's, blue crabs and a little family of pigs (javalina's) roaming around! The Beach is Pretty and is natural - not a concrete pier with sand, which is why it's so roomy I'm sure! Do take bug spray for evenings and night strolls and sitting on the balcony. The balcony's on the rooms are like little tree house seats because of the tropical vegetation, it is like sitting in the jungle, no ocean views here - I enjoyed it, husband preferred the bed! The food was not great and defintly not gourmet, and it tended to be repatitious, but there was always something to get full on (and no funny looks when ya took a little fruit or box of cereal or yogurt to snack on later!) - however the coffee at the buffet and restrarants was Horrid (but our room had little packs that were Much better and the maid would give you as many packs and as much bottled water as we wanted - so we had coffee in our room and we just had fruit punch and water at meals, or mixed drinks- that were very good!); the salt always plugged so be prepared to just uncap, dump some on the side and use fingers to sprinkle! or do like I finally did on a trip to town, I bought my own that had a solid lid and carried it with me to eat! Yea I know .. but I gotta have salt! As I stated above, the dive shop is Fantastic! We did not use the water sports equipment available because of the weather (though we did dive every day) but spoke with several people that did the snorkeling tour and class and said it was great! We plan on using the sea kayaks next trip and maybe try the kite boards! On to our room, the AC was defintly Cold- but we saw the comments in the reviews and took lightweight jammies and fuzzy socks (for me) in the room and it was perfect. We have stayed where the AC was weak before, and with the humidity and heat of Mexico, even with the daily rain, we considered it a plus that the air conditioning was so chilly! Our room was very comfy and clean, beds are very very firm/hard. Our bathroom was our favorite part of our room! Good size closet, which is where we found the stocked fridge (2 beers, some soda's and a few bottles of water) and the room safe and iron. Also there was an alcove of sorts with a full length mirror and some empty tiled floor space for wet stuff. The shower and tub were separate and the shower was THE BEST! It was large and roomy and had fantastic water flow and pressure and lots of hot water! After a day of diving and walking it was the perfect warm up and wind down! Hot shower and cup of coffee!

"Not as advertised, no free Wi-Fi. "
I stayed at this resort to do a week of scuba diving, I wasn't interested in anything else and was a little annoyed at the promotion offers I was bombarded with from the airport to the hotel. I enjoyed my stay for the most part but beware that the Wi-Fi is no longer free, you will have to pay $14.00 per day or $50.00 per week. My room was not ready till 4 pm and I arrived shortly after 12 pm so it was a long wait. I reserved a king bed with ocean view but got two doubles instead. The food is pretty decent and I did not observe a dress code?? The Dive House is located on the resort property and is a decent shop to serve your scuba needs. Beware that a taxi into town is $30 round trip, I was also gouged by the taxi driver that charged me $29 to take me to the airport. These taxi drivers service this resort. When will Mexico go to metered cabs??

"The Finest Hotel Room On Cozumel Island"
We just got back from a six night stay, and it was great, just as our previous stays at the hotel were. It is not "Inclusive With Meals," so we can eat when and where we want, and not pay for meals that we do not want. Lots of good restaurants downtown. In addition to the home-made guacamole, the hotel's fresh caught grilled grouper with dill sauce and grilled shrimp with garlic butter are gourmet quality. For more space and comfort, I recommend the one-bedroom suite, which includes a separate living room and a kitchen area. The suites can be expanded to add two or three bedrooms to accommodate a large family. Very friendly staff. Pool, beach, snorkel access, and a pleasant walk to downtown

"Simply the best!"
This was our 3rd stay at the Presidente and it never disappoints! The hotel staff is always smiling and courteous, the concierge did a great job of recommending restaurants. The grounds are beautifully manicured and the beaches are very clean and very safe for the kids. Our room had a beautiful view of the sea and the new furnishings are very nice! The bed was extremely comfortable and the bath was large. My wife took advantage of the spa and the the staff at Scuba Du was great as always! If you do not see something on the menu the service was quick to accomodate your needs. Looking forward to our next visit!

"Great Location with basic accomodations"
This hotels provides basic room accommodations. The room itself was not very fancy, had two double beds with very firm mattresses, a nightstand with an alarm/radio, a tube TV, a small table with two chairs and a dresser. The furniture looked worn (not broken). The AC worked great and the WiFi was fine when it worked (it was down twice during our week long stay). Some of the highlights of this Hotel are the staff, they are great and very friendly. The housekeeping staff did a fantastic job of cleaning the room daily and they made these little animal figures with the towels daily and decorated them with flowers. The food was OK, I would say the breakfasts and snack bar during the day were pretty good with dinner being the weak point. It was not bad but not at the same level we had seen at a bigger resort in Cancun. Probably because the Hotel is smaller some of the food gets reheated from one meal to another and not as tasty as fresh food. Overall for the price it was not a bad deal I must say. If you are into Scuba then the hotel has deals for divers and the diving outfit is right across the street. The Hotel is very close to downtown so you can either walk or take a cab (about $3 one way). There is not much of a beach to the Hotel but you can do some snorkeling right there and there is some neat stuff to see. While the rooms did not impress us much and the food was so so, I would definitely go back due to the friendliness and great job by the staff and the great location of the Hotel. The way we see it you don't go on vacation to spend it inside a room and it was a great base for our activities which included laying by the pool, a visit to the San Geronimo ruins, Scuba diving, snorkeling, a visit to Chankanaab park (wonderful snorkeling) and a visit to a beach on the south east side of the island (Chen Rio).
