I love the location, it is walkable to San Francisco City and thus Bill Graham Auditorium And Davies Music Hall. The rooftop balcony had a great view of the city. We happened to stay during fleet week, so we got to see the blue angels perform over the city. Everyone was very friendly. The valet parking was convenient. It is in San Francisco and there are homeless people around. They in no way bothered me or my wife, but if you are scared of homeless people or cities, maybe don’t stay in San Francisco.

The hotel and room were nice and very modern. It should be noted that there is no AC and parking is not available through the hotel, only via valet from an independent company. There are a lot of homeless along the streets but the hotel itself seemed safe and very nice. They do provide 1 fan and 1 heater. If there was a screen on the door that locked I would've felt more comfortable leaving the door open for some air. It did get quite warm with 3 people in the room but over all the room was clean and nice

Staff were rude, key did not work for the room and elevator and we were unable to leave on time because they let a car park in front of ours and said they didn’t know who’s it was. 35 minutes later they magically found the keys to the car but not before I asked them to have it towed. We were late getting to our destination. Staff that worked breakfast shift woke us up at 5 bc they were outside our room laughing loudly while smoking. I will not be going back.

Stay was okay

Pros: Rooftop view/ balcony
Cons: Honesty of staff
Whatever you do - DO NOT order room service!!!!!! We were completely robbed !!! BUYER BEWARE!!! Worst experience EVER. We ordered food to our room and paid over $50. It was delivered in a bag. We paid and left a fat tip only to find that we were missing two items we ordered. The food they did actually deliver was wet and leaking and not fully cooked. We threw it right in the trash. We called room service back to complain that we were overcharged as they did not even deliver our entire order. They basically gave us the run-around to "call back tomorrow." Long story short, we called back about 6 times, spoke to 4 different people and was hung up on once. We never got our money back or any type of reconciliation... straight up robbed. Otherwise - area is not the safest but as long as you don't walk/ wander around, you will be okay. Free breakfast each morning was a huge plus... probably the best thing about our short stay. Food wasn't great, but decent. Parking garage is kind of a scam as they make up new prices each time you ask. The rooftop view was gorgeous but the bar was never open while we were there. TV did not have any decent channels and we did not have a working remote. The hotel gave us new batteries but there was still nothing to watch on TV. Cleanliness of room was decent. Overall, I would not return to stay again as the room service situation left a bad taste in my mouth. It was upsetting how they handled it - or lack of.

I want to clarify to you and for those reading your review that the Cova Hotel does not have an in-house restaurant for 24 Hour Room Service. The room service provider is a third party company in which you are ordering from them directly. I will surely investigate your issue so, moving forward, will not have to have a situation such as yours. We are sorry that we were not able to remedy the situation with the room service provider during your visit with us.

Absentee of Value

I thought I paid a decent price for my stay but upon further research, it was the average price in the area for one night. I paid $366 plus $58 for parking an obersized vehicle for a little over 24 hours (my truck). For what I paid, I was disappointed in my standard and cramped sized room. Also, it was very dissapointimg that the shower had mold all over that should have been cleaned prior to my stay. I brought it to an employee's attention but I didn't even get an apology. I wonder if this was something common for them? It was disregarded too easily! I left a comment on their site but have yet to receive a call from a manager either. I'm very dissapointed in their display of hospitality.

Good day, We apologize for the delay in response. The parking on property is through a 3rd party. Unfortunately, we do not control the pricing with the vehicles. As for the condition of your room, we will investigate the cramped issue since the smallest room we have is 200 sq. feet.

Disappointing hotel in a run down area of SF

Pros: Free wi fi and fitness room. Shuttle to tourist areas.
Cons: Food availability, terrace lounge upgraded to a nice cafeteria or bar.
Location: Close to Union Square and shops.
This hotel doesn't offer much besides a small room, a minimalist lobby and a breakfast area. The terrace is open but no services are offered; the reception staff suggested that I buy beverages/bottles and snacks at a convenient store and bring them in. The lounge could have at least a vending machine. The fitness center was OK. Breakfast was barely OK with no cut fruit available. The staff reserved me a place on the airport shuttle which did not come on time; when it did, it took a very long time going to five different hotels to pick up other customers. I almost missed my plane. The homeless situation is as bad as in other downtown SF streets. For the price I paid I expected a better deal.

Beware - in a terrible neighborhood of San Fran

This hotel is located in one of the worst neighborhoods of San Francisco. Luckily we were only there one night - had it been longer, and had we been able to cancel, I would have changed locations. The hotel decor was fine and they actually have a nice rooftop lounge, but other than that, I don't have anything nice to say. The room was extremely noisy - you could hear noise from other rooms as well as from outside and you have no ability to control the room temp (i.e., there's a heater but no a/c) and the room was very stuffy. Don't be fooled by the price or the fact that there are many hotels in the area - the neighborhood is not one you want to stay in. Also, the garage "valet" wouldn't even retrieve our car on the morning of our departure.
