"Older hotel still a good place"
I have stayed here a few times before and will be going back soon. If you are looking for the latest and greatest this is not for you. The price is great it is older architecture but has been maintained. Much better than most places in downtown. Excellent food is in the area. We use it for its location and value hard to beat.

"Concierge service was extremely helpful!"
This hotel is worth staying at, especially if you are planning to attend a sports event or concert. Location is very convenient with walking distance access to Staples Center, Nokia. We didn't rent a car and I was a little concerned about getting around but the metro was about 10 minute walk and the bus is about 5 minute walk. If you are not planning to see a lot of sites, you don't really need a car. Catch the metro red line to Hollywood Boulevard and you can get a lot of tours from there. The concierge gave me great directions. There is also a Denny's nearby, which is nice if you get tired a paying for the hotel meals. We ate at ESPN Zone the first night and the food was great (not to mention all of the TVs with every sporting event playing) - it was my son's dream come true. The main disappointment was paying $13 for wireless internet PER DAY! Given the hotel rate, I think they could at least give the guests free internet for a few days! Make sure you visit the Grammy Museum (right around the corner from the hotel) and the Hollywood Museum!

"Downtown L.A. anniversary vacation."
My only concern with this hotel is the noise. It was incredible how the traffic 12floors below was SO loud. Aside from that the hotel is beautiful, a golden era in hollywood history seems like time stood still. The staff was extremely busy with multi weddings going on and we can appreciate that. The hotel is so beautiful my fave staff though are the valets classy classy bunch of gents.

"Recommend only if you are a young couple!"
I like this place and have been going here for the rooftop for the past 5 years. It is a boutique hotel with open bathtub. Which can be fun, but I do not recommend for families or old-fashioned couples. If you are young and are ready to grab drinks on rooftop or in downtown area and DO NOT care about noisy rooftop visitors until 2 am, I highly recommend! If you want luxury LUXURY, go to Ritz-Carlton or JW Marriot in downtown.

"Great location, nice hotel. TINY room."
I've traveled lots in my life and been to countless hotels, but never had a room as small as this one. Was not a big deal to me, but I can imagine many folks would have found it below-value for this particular hotel. Other than that, everything was pretty much perfect. The ground floor can be a little difficult in navigating, but it was a nice wandering around.
