"Nice hotel, friendly staff, but food is just ok"
Went with husband and baby. Because it is a new resort, everything is pretty nice when it comes to pools and areas near the beach. The staff was extra friendly. One minor downside was the room service did not understand my requests half of the time, so I would either just forget about it try desperately several times. We had a room with a private pool. Honestly the way it looks, the pools are not so "private" because you can look into your neighbor's pool and pretty much everyone could see you if they wanted. It wasn't so bad because there weren't that many people on the resort. However, if you are coming here for peak season I probably wouldn't have taken this option. There doesn't seem to be much difference between a room with a private pool and swimup rooms. One complaint is that the floors and shower are super slippery because they would get wet from us coming in and out from the beach and pool, so I had to keep an eye on our baby like a hawk. Now for the worse part. The food...could use massive improvement. The only decent restaurant was Brass Steakhouse. We weren't able to try the French restaurant because it was adults only. Poo~ (and it was my birthday too!) The food was just mediocre and I hope they do something about it. No body seemed like the beach, which was good for us. There was a lot of seaweed, but it was not at all a problem.

"Great location but needs updating"
(We did not choose All-Inclusive Option because there are so many options close by) Positives: Hotel location is great, especially if you want to walk to nightlife/grocery store/market. Beach was much nicer than many hotels close to us that were covered in disgusting seaweed, and we could always find a chair and umbrella. Great pools with enough chairs and a swim up bar. We did buy beer and a cooler (no fridge), and brought that down to the beach to save some money. The employees were all pleasant and friendly. Negatives: The construction going on next door was loud. Luckily, our room was on the other side. I highly recommend paying extra for ocean view, and ask to be on opposite end of construction . We also got chairs and umbrellas on the other side of hotel where we could not hear it. The rooms are not very luxurious at all, but comfortable enough and clean. No chairs on the balcony. We found out the walls were very thin the last night when we had a bachelor party move in next to us :/ So, bring earplugs!

"Excellent Resort"
I mainly choose this hotel due to it being adults only. It felt very peaceful. The beach was very nice with lots of chairs and plenty of room. The pools were nice as well and again plenty of chairs and places to sit. The entire staff was very accommodating and the food was awesome. I will definitely be back.

"Excellent Resort"
This is an excellent place to stay while in Cancun, very friendly and courteous staff, clean facility. You can tell the people that work there are happy and proud of where they work, always smiling and ready to help. We were a little aggravated about being approached about a "timeshare" type program immediately upon arrival, and arranging transportation for return flight was very confusing.

Visit Quiet Islands and Ancient Mayan Sites

Cancun is filled with a rich history and many attractions that reflect the area's ancient Mayan culture. The Mayan civilization was one of the original cultures of the New World, and it lasted for longer than 3,000 years. The Mayan people lived in the eastern part of Mesoamerica on the Yucatan Peninsula, where Cancun is located. In the area, you can see many of the Mayan architectural masterpieces, including the murals at Bonampak, the Great Palace at Sayil, and the Temple of the Inscriptions at Palenque.

Located just eight miles from the peninsula is the quiet island of Isla Mujeres. Once you have experienced all of the excitement of Cancun's exuberant nightlife, you can escape to this sleepy island to enjoy some peace and relaxation. Tour the Hacienda Mundaca while you are there and learn the history of this haunting 19th century mansion. You can also visit the local tortugranja, or turtle farm, and catch a glimpse of the magical sea turtles in their natural habitat.

Everything From Historical Artifacts to Top-Rated Dance Clubs

Visitors to Cancun who enjoy sightseeing will not want to miss the massive Mayan archeological site Chichen Itza. This monument is one of the most recognized landmarks on the Yucatan Peninsula. It was originally the main hub of Mayan civilization and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This site can be extremely overcrowded during the peak travel season; however, it is well worth enduring the crowd in order to see this ancient temple of worship. The best time to visit is early morning before the majority of the tourists arrive.

The Laguna Nichupte is a vast lagoon that is home to many marinas, shopping opportunities and waterfront restaurants. There are also a number of golf courses in the area where you can take in a round or two before settling down to enjoy a memorable sunset.

Cancun is known all over for its vivacious nightlife, and there are many dance clubs and live shows in the area designed to offer party-goers a night they will never forget. The infamous CoCo Bongo Show & Disco can be found near where a majority of hotels in Cancun, Mexico, are located. Enjoy an authentic Mexican meal at one of the many restaurants and cantinas, or take part in the CunCrawl and experience one of the most unique bar and pub crawls in the region.

Best Time to Visit and Why

The very best time to visit Cancun is between the months of December and April. While this may be the area's peak season for tourists, it is the finest time of the year climate-wise to visit the sunny shores. This is also a good time to find affordable flights and even cheaper rates for Cancun hotels from Travelocity. It is a good idea to avoid visiting the area from mid-March to early April. During that time, spring-breakers from all over the globe take over the beaches and hotel rates tend to be on the rise. During late spring, summer, and fall, tourists can take advantage of various travel discounts; however, the summer months are extremely hot in this tropical environment, and in the late fall, the area is prone to heavy storms.
