"Beautiful resort - huge"
Had a very nice stay at the Moon Palace Grand area. Grand area is quieter than Nizuc & Sunrise which worked for us. Lobby to lobby transportation made it easy to travel to activities when you are too lazy to walk. Afternoon shuttles to Beach Palace and Sun Palace in hotel zone are great and make it easy to enjoy the beach while still taking advantage of the all-inclusive privileges.

"Very quiet and relaxing"
My husband and I have been to Cancun many times and know what to expect from a hotel in this price range. Contrary to some of the reviews we had a great time. If you understand that standards are not quite the same as in the US and loosen up a bit you and your partner will have a great time. This is an older hotel but it is beautiful, sophisticated and clean. We stayed in a club room with soaking pool on the deck, more expensive but worth it. Room 779 was great, on top floor and closest to ocean. Check in was quick. the room was private and adults only so I was able to soak and tan topless! The room included slow wifi and because it was our 15th anniversary they gave us a bottle of champagne. Typical for Mexico, the bed was a bit hard but the rest of the room made up for it. I was so happy to find that the pool area was quiet and relaxing, no blaring music, obnoxious guy on a speaker or loud guests, just a peaceful place to read and enjoy the view. They have lots of chairs, umbrellas, plus beds on the beach! We enjoyed all the restaurants, however the buffet was average... you will need to be selective there. I really liked the shows I saw, both were sexy but classy... the Mayan Show at the pool was a native dance with drums etc... and in the lobby there were contortionists that danced and did a trapeze act. We bought booze for the room and skipped the bars. Happy with hotel overall.

"Excellent Value"
My family had a great stay at the GR Caribe. We found this resort to be an excellent value for our needs. It was our second time visiting Cancun and first time trying an all-inclusive package. If you are reading this, you were probably drawn to the relatively low price GR Caribe offers, compared to the other all-inclusive resorts in Cancun. The hotel and grounds were clean if a little dated in appearance. The room was spacious and clean, but for some reason wi-fi was not working so that was a little disappointing. Our initial impression of the food was not that great until we learned our way around. If you are a picky eater, avoid the lunch and dinner buffets. I have never been particularly picky about food, but was not able to find much that I liked. However, once we discovered the restaurants we were actually quite happy. The resort restaurants have different menus each evening and you select one dish each from 3-4 courses. If you are really hungry, you should not skip any courses as the serving sizes of each course are quite small by American standards. Except for one or two dishes over an entire week, we were quite happy with our meals. The restaurant staff were also great and very helpful. Drinks were also quite good. They are all made with middle-shelf brands and nothing tasted watered down. The only real irritant the entire trip were the annoying people trying to sell shares. I had to be rather forceful to make them leave me alone.

"Great first-time trip to Cancun!"
This place is huge and it took a full day to get our bearings and learn where everything is. My husband and I upgraded to VIP and it was worth it. We had so much fun on the lagoon lunch cruise included with our upgrade! We really liked having the VIP Club Lounge on the 8th floor for breakfast and cocktails. It was quiet and the food was good. Isaac took great care of us. He is outstanding. Having a personal concierge to make our reservations was great too. Nicole and Sandy were so helpful and easily answered any questions. The first night we ate at Wayne's Boots. It was fun watching people try to ride the mechanical bull but our steaks were not good so I don't recommend that restaurant. My favorite restaurant was the French, Sans Souci. The steaks were delicious and the atmosphere was very upscale. We sat by an oceanfront window at dusk and had an amazing experience. Juan was fantastic! This restaurant is adults only with a dress code. Great ambiance. The Mexican restaurant was really good and I loved the decor. Jose took care of us and we enjoyed our dinner very much. My husband's favorite restaurant was Fisherman's. The mahi mahi was good. The Italian restaurant was ok. Then there was La Palapa. That was where most people had breakfast lunch & dinner. Big variety, buffet style but with chefs at various stations cooking made to order items. Great view of two of the pools. There were a lot of kids here since this is a family resort and everyone seemed to be having fun.

"The saying is true....you get what you pay!!!!!"
We just came back from Cancun Mexico and we stayed for 5 days here at Sea Adventures. This place is mainly for people with small kids people who do not have kids the only specialty you get is the free food and open bar. What i enjoyed the most was since it was cheaper I had more money to waste on tours so mostly the whole week I only went to hotel to sleep. The water park and pool were nice and warm. The beach was not like the pictures it was very ugly and dirty not like on other beaches in Cancun, there was trash brought up from the ocean all over the beach workers would pick it up but the ocean wouldnt stop bringing in trash so the whole 5 days we never got in to the beach at our own hotel. There is nothing close like shopping or the tour adventures they offer in cancun everywhere we went we had to pay for a driver/taxi to go. The only place we toured that we didnt have to go far was to get a boat to go to isla de mujeres. The food was good always a buffet there was always something to eat, they had different kids of food for different taste. The entertainment they did have was mainly for kids. So since it is a kid friendly hotel there were many kids running around all over the place. I did have a issue with the staff when we arrived I told the clerk we wanted a king size bed and ocean view and when we went to room it was not a king size nore ocean view so we went back to clerk he supposibly fixed it with a attitude rolling his eyes and mumbling something, we then went to the new room to come and find out it was not a king size nor ocean view once again. I then went back to clerk and he continued with a attidue like if I bothered him so I then told him to just give me back first room and he rudely told me he had given it away I didnt believe it. And the night before we left I had notified front desk I needed some towels and toilet paper and never received them.

"Great price, facilities, hospitality and location"
After reading several reviews earlier, I decided to try this hotel for my first trip to Cancun. I would say, I am more than happy with what I got. The hotel is great and the staff is quite customer focused. The all-inclusive part is really worth as they have great food and the chef can customize the preparation based on what you want. They have enough bars to make you walk the least to get your fav drink, no matter which part of the hotel you are and what you are doing. The beach is clean and the ocean waters are close to the compound, so you don't have to walk too much. We enjoyed releasing the baby turtles with our own hands several times during our one week stay, for which you would have otherwise paid elsewhere. There was an attempt to sell timeshare-like package but its all optional and no pressure. My special call out to their entertainment staff who did an excellent job in singing, dancing, and all other sorts of activities arranged free for the guests every night. The place is in the Hotel zone but not in that part where most of the malls and street shops are (like Riu, Pallazo, etc.) The disadvantage about this is that you got to take a public transit (very reliant and affordable) if you have to go anywhere outside the hotel. The good part is that, it is away from the noise and the typical marketplace crowd, so you can relax and enjoy your stay at the hotel. One really does not require to step outside the hotel as you can spend a whole week enjoying the hotel facilities like pools, bars, beach, night shows, spa, massage, etc. Tips are ofcourse optional, but do tip if you loved the service as the staff is really helpful and they try their best to give you the best comfort. In a summary here are the great and not so great things about the hotel - GREAT: a) Good beach, b) 4 pools, c) Courteous staff, d) All rooms (except lagoon viewing suites) have a full or partial ocean view, f) Good location, g) All-inclusive, h) High quality drinks I) Kid and family friendly j) Entertainment programs. NOT SO GREAT: a) A little away from malls, b) No shuttles to the city/malls c) No Mexican food option for night (day-time - you do have good Mexican options)
