"AMAZING HOTEL, MUST VISIT AGAIN!"
Loved our experience, absolutely no complaints whatsoever! Every aspect of the vacation was great. Starting from the reception staff, Rodrigo, was very helpful and accommodating. In our instance we had a 2BR Ocean View suite as it was a total of 5 of us. Absolutely amazing views, and super attentive service. We of course did the all inclusive stay and it was well worth it for the money. Great, and affordable prices. Make sure to stick to the all inclusive menu, otherwise it will get expensive. The little shop next to the hotel is convenient, yet very overpriced.
Two downsides - first of all, the hotel is located about 20 minutes from the downtown/hotel area. For someone that is trying to party, I would stay away from this hotel as it is a little distance away. However, if you're looking for a fun, relaxing, and fun filled vacation - this is a marvelous spot. The other downside would be the beach. It is a little bit dirtier than the hotel area of Cancun... Most likely b/c of the ferry right next to the hotel.. Nonetheless, nothing that you will die over.. You can always make a visit to the hotel area if you're dying to see a prettier beach.
I have previously stayed in Villa del Palmar in Puerto Vallarta, and much similar to that experience, this one was fantastic!... I would highly recommend the hotel group.
All the restaurants, La Casona (steak house and needs reservation before hand) , Davino (Greek dinner spot, and fantastic breakfast buffet) , Zama (awesome lunch Mexican specials) , Hiroshi (sushi) & the snack bars were great! Had some amazing servers at each spot, and they are more than willing to accommodate your needs! Had the pleasure of meeting all the top chefs of the restaurants, and aside from being great cooks, they were amazing people! Over the days you begin building relationships with all the serves and you find you'll have your own little family in Mexico! You truly do feel welcome at this hotel!
Room service was decent - it was included in the all inclusive package. Beware, they do take a little more than usual.. Just make sure to order before hand. Gym is great, very complete.. Underground gym with quite a bit of equipment. Did not have the pleasure of going to the spa, but definitely looked beautiful from the outside.. Amazing 4 pools, all with serving staff so that you enjoy your drinks & food round the clock...
My personal favorite part of the trip was the Cuban musical group, Santa Fe... They played around the pool during the day and broke up during the dinner hours between Davino and LA Cazona. Really makes for an amazing dinner to have these guys around your table singing! Aside from being talented, the guys are super friendly! All were fantastic!!... Head of the group Jose, super kind man with lots of Cuban flavor! Along with the rest of the group, Wilmen, Osmin, Ricardo, Carlos, Ariel, Yuri, and Juan Manuel ! (sp).. They also played at the Caribbean night where there was dancing and music - absolutely amazing !!!
Lots of activities within the resort... Volleyball, dancing, zumba, water aerobics, salsa, etc. Concierge is also available to help with any tours.. In our case we did Xscaret and Chichen Itza which was well worth the $$.. Beware of the time share presentations - as any resort - they will get you!
All in all A+++ experience! Thank you to Villa del Palmar staff for such an amazing time!!.. See you soon!
