We knew something was amiss when the lady of the house asked us to take off our shoes at the door. The Queen room is tiny and they had to wheel in portable air conditioner on a hot summer’s day.. The owners are very sweet and tried to make us comfortable but it was too much of an amateur operation. This is a b&b, not a hotel. We ended up forfeiting our advance payment and staying elsewhere.

I would not recommend this place to a nun, a priest or my worst enemy. The host barely speaks English, does not have any manners & does not have a concept of what boundaries & privacy means here in North America. She was constantly nagging us while we stayed there & did not provide appropriate instructions as to what the rules of the hotel were (if you can call it a hotel, it's more like a house). Amenities were incredibly minimal for the high prices they charge, hell, there wasn't even toothpaste, soap or anything like that in the room; complimentary or otherwise. The lady kept telling me to do a cash deal with her instead of going through Travelocity so that they could avoid paying fees & taxes. Very unprofessional & sketchy people. DO NOT STAY HERE if you care about having a positive experience.

THIS IS A BED AND BREAKFAST- NOT A HOTEL!!!
Pros:The woodworking.
Cons:IT SHOULD BE ADVERTISED CORRECTLY AS A BED AND BREAKFAST!!!
Location:Don't know- we were just looking for a place to stay for the night. There are no river views that we saw from the B and B.
This place is wonderful, as a bed and breakfast. Unfortunately it is advertised as a hotel, and it is definitely NOT. We were looking for a place to come in late, sleep, and leave in the morning. Most all hotels have a free airport pick up and delivery service; Bed and Breakfasts do not, so we ended up paying $80 extra to go back and forth to the airport.
As a bed and breakfast, the place is spotless. The woodworking done by Mr. Kim is spectacular. If we planned to tour Calgary, we would probably stay here, but as a B and B.
Our flight came in late, and we were greeted by Ms. Kim, who was a wonderful person, but after 12 hours from Florida, we did not want to talk with anyone at midnight, and just wanted to go to our room and sleep. Likewise, in the morning, we came downstairs and were ignored by a bunch of unfriendly people from Quebec (who doesn't at least acknowledge someone when they say a cheery hello??!!) sitting at the breakfast table.

Thank you for complimentary about the woodwork. We appreciate your feedback and we did not advertise as a hotel. This is a very unique property, high end facility (2.2 million dollar building) with small number of guests and we will try our best to provide a comfortable, elegant stay for our guest.
As a guest of Westmount River Inn, you'll find a library, a terrace, and tour/ticket assistance. WiFi is free in public spaces. A shuttle from the hotel to the airport during limited hours and an area shuttle are available for a fee. Westmount River Inn also features a garden, laundry facilities, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free self parking is available.
