Just for convenience to be near friends

Pros: This hotel happened to be in a good location as I stated, was the best because my friends were only a few blocks away, so choices was limited
Cons: Some improvement is needed and if done this would be much better to my liking
Location: I didn't go looking for things to do because I was with friends and was in town for a wedding, the hotel is relatively near the train station
I started out please with the hotel, 1st check in, on my 2nd visit the reception was blank, but nonchalant. Upon my return was the worst. I was treated like if I did not have paid reservations, I got a room in the basement to my dismay, because I told them I was returning for the weekend, however I asked 2 be move and later the next day got a room on the 3rd floor which was much more to my satisfaction.

Staff was great hotel quality was very poor it said parking on the site but did not have adequate space for SUVs and trucks road conditions are fair

Middle of the Road

Pros: See above.
Cons: Price slashed by about 2/3rds.
Location: There is nothing to do in the area. The neighborhood is sketchy, but probably mostly safe. I wouldn't let my mom stay here.
Fine, if you're looking to stay in Crown Heights. There's not much within walking distance, other than a (decent) diner across the street, as well as a Dunkin Donuts. Beyond that, there's an Autozone and a bunch of oddball churches. The elevator had a distinct pot aroma to it, and the bathrooms had a healthy amount of mold/funk in the grout. The beds were fine, but the wall a/c units were loud. Anywhere else in the country, you'd pay thirty bucks for the room -- here you pay a couple hundred. Oh -- the free parking? First come, first serve. We got there at 8 and had to park on the street due to the very small lots being full (on the upside, the car wasn't broken into).

Rooms not clean, not so nice area.

Well, I was already warned ahead of time the area was not a good area. I read other reviews about the area; questionable activity outside late at night, all of that was true. I had two beggars come up to me at night asking me for money. The service was ok. The front desk workers weren't professional but judging from the clientele you'll see coming in and out of the hotel and the neighborhood residents, I'm not surprised. Next is the cleanliness of the room or lack of cleanliness; the air conditioner vents are very dusty so when you turn it on, dust flies everywhere. The desk area, nightstands, bathroom counter and tub were not well cleaned. The soap dish in the bathtub still had soap residue in it. The carpet was not vacuumed well. The coffee maker was not working and the refrigerator was not working well either. The bed was nice and comfortable but I notice the maids do not change your bedsheets everyday. Normally I go to hotels that change at least the bedsheets sometimes the bed cover as well. And the tv worked fine. Overall, I would not come back to the hotel. Now most hotels are not going to be super clean even 5 star hotels but even for a budget hotel the cleanliness was subpar.

Dirty and bad area

Super dirty! Bad area and weird activity around hotel. We saw huge rats of the size of cats outside of hotel. Parking is super tight and can't even park because it's so narrow. Bathrooms were dirty! Sheets were clean. Towels had hairs..eeww. Carpet was dirty! Breakfast was mediocre! Took us 30 minutes to get to timesquare etc paid about $40 each way back and forth. Take the Subway it's cheaper. Be careful when you are outside specially once it gets dark that's when it gets worse..bunch of weirdos and druggies everywhere

No working toilet

Every thing about the hotel was ok except the toilet would not work, flush. I was moved to another room which was also on the 5th floor, that toilet didn't really flush either. I call downstairs to the front clerk and told her the new room she just gave me the toilet wasn't really working either. She said" a Maybe you are doing something wrong." I told her, "I am 46 years old, I do believe I know how to flush a toilet." she offered me another room which was in the basement, which she said that's all they had. I know I didn't want to go to the basement nor ride around Brooklyn looking for another hotel (even thought I use to live there) especially since I couldn't get a refund from her since I booked the room through Travelocity. So I just decided to stay and if I left them with a mess in the bathroom, then they would just have to deal with it later .
